Engine Slap

I started noticing a slapping sound when I start my truck. It only lasts for a couple seconds. Any ideas!

 

09 Sierra with 5.3 and 60,k miles

GM says it's not a big deal. I'm not sure if I agree, but I can't argue with the results.

 

My '01 has 190,000 miles, and the engine still runs fine, and compression is good in all 8 cylinders. It started slapping/ticking around 100,000 miles.

Were you able to figure out what is causing the slapping sound you have been hearing, Rjbeck77? Can I be of any assistance?
