Love Sonoma Red trucks. I almost bought a Sonoma Red Denali instead of my High Country, if it had a sunroof I would've taken it.

And now I have one. :spam:

Wow somebody got a fancy truck. It's a really good color choice too! I really like that color matched onstar antenna.

Thanks Robert!

Anyone purchase any touch-up paint yet for the Sonoma Red Metallic? I bought some ACDelco WA412P online and it is a bit darker when I used on my truck. Would be nice if it matched a bit better to disguise the blemishes.

Over the counter touch up paint really never matches perfectly, especially the metallic.

There is a lot more to painting a vehicle and having it match than putting a glob of paint in a chip. Sanding/prepping the area, blending the paint to match, clear coat, buffing, wet sanding, buffing.

It will never be a perfect match and look good unless it's done the right way.

I bought the same touch-up paint and it seems to match my 2014 pretty well. I agree that it's really difficult, and a lot of work to do correctly.

I think your truck is beautiful. Like the color :) .

Does the color match antenna come from the factory that way?

Good luck with it.

I had a 2008 Silverado in Deep Ruby/Sonoma Red and got touch up paint from the dealer and it wasn't an exact match. The reason is because it's a single stage paint with the clear in it. I recently purchased some from Automotive Touchup for my 2014 at $9.95 for a 1/2 ounce bottle and it's an exact match and the best I've seen yet. It's a perfect match because it's a base coat and clear top coat like the factory uses. Even though there's a brush in the bottle, it may be a little big for tiny touch-ups so I went to a hobby store and purchased a few different size small quality soft brushes that do a great job.

Forgot to mention you will need to purchase the clear top coat bottle for $4.95.

Yes, the 2015 Denali and High Country have the painted OnStar/XM antenna from the factory.

Another issue with paint matching is when, where and who mixed each batch hard to be exactly the same from batch to batch when you add in these outside variations, there are quality control procedures, but still obstacles to overcome for a perfect match.

I went to NAPA after the dealer wanted $24 for touch up paint. They didn't have the Sonoma Red in the pre-packaged stuff, so they custom mixed my paint code right there and it was a perfect match.
