Oil capacity question.......adding remote oil filter

With the stop system holding 8.5 qts. Is the .5 qt just the filter? I am going to a remote filter set up and also to a larger filter, such as WIX 51060. Is the 51060 a 1 qt filter? I've got the additional line capacity at 2/3 of a qt and am assuming the WIX and large filters such as it, will hold an extra qt. Should be safe to run 10 qts with this and be good.................I think. Thoughts?

Wouldn't checking the dipstick be all that's needed? Once the filter is filled it'll still be accurate after all.
