Now if I could just get the damn things installed.

Wilwood finally called me back today. They said the studs are too long. I think I said it first.

They said they won't be able to get a corrected bracket with the right length studs to me for about a month. I'm guessing longer. Apparently, their drawings and all their inventory is incorrect. I must have been the first customer for these. :loser:

So, the only way I can get this mod on the road in the meantime is go to my friend's shop and cut the threads another 1/4" down the studs and chop them down 5/8" so they don't hit the wheels for the interim. I'm headed to his shop tomorrow morning.

Well, at least the next guy to order will get the right sh!t.

Wow. You would think they could find a volunteer to test this equipment ahead of production....*ehem*....

I'm sure they did test them. But most likely on a pickup with 20" rims.

Wouldn't have made any difference what size the wheel is. The studs were so long that you couldn't clamp the caliper down.

It appears that they did. reeling-smiley.gif

Got up early and went to a friend's shop. He had one of his tool makers thread the studs down 1/4" further and chop them off. I stood around in my clean dress shirt and drank coffee. I did bring a couple dozen donuts to his crew. I also brought a 18 pack over to his house tonight.

Nah. I had to go to work, then had some brews with him. My goal is Saturday.

I ordered some Wilwood braided brake lines a few years ago for my Camaro. They didn't come with the correct hardware to hook them up. Seems like a common problem over there...

I got them installed tonight. Didn't have the energy to bleed them tonight. I'll do it tomorrow. Besides, I need to do a break in process.

I'll do a full writeup with pics when I'm done.
