Re-using ubolts.

Just wondering what the general word is here about using re-using u bolts.

 

I took the rear blocks out of my truck and now I think I want to put them back. I've heard of people saying you can and can't.

 

Reason for putting them back in is that I am gonna level the front.

I re-used them when I took the blocks out, now I will use them again when I put the blocks back in.

i reused mine same way, but i put blue threadlock on both times. after i took them off to put my blocks back, they were very very snug, so i didnt worry about doing it again with threadlock.

I reused mine. I checked them after about 2 weeks...no problems. It's been about 6 months and still tight.

Gm's Service Information does not require replacement of the u bolts. And they are very anal about these things. Although if anyone really cares, tighten to

1. First Pass 59 ft. lb.
2. Final Pass 130 Deg
