Not sure about this inneficiency stuff thst y all talk about. But the magnussen tvs 1900 added 100 hp to the rear wheels of my truck. This translated to several tenths of second quicker in the 1/8 mile and over a second in the quarter mile. Pretty efficient if ya ask me.

Simple. If it had better flowing intercooling then you would make more power with the same boost. Doesn't mean you don't make power, just not as much as you could. The new LT4 makes more power on the same boost as the LS9 this way. Read the latest issue of HotRod they go over LT4 & Hell cat.

I am running 5 lbs of boost and made 100rwph. What do other superchargers make?

Kevin, don't forget you live in CANADA! what was the ambient temp when they did your dyno? what were the temps then you ran your 1/4 mile?

The thing is heat soak is the #1 problem with anything boosted. especially turbo's and positive displacement SC! Imagine your in Arizona or Texas where it's regularly 85 degrees plus!

edelbrock told me my truck was making 6 lbs of boost. I've never seen anything over 5!

also remember your dyno numbers when you got yours installed?

they look very similar to the numbers Magnusson got with the same blower on the same engine and a different dyno.

anyone who builds boosted applications will tell you the most important thing to consider when making power is air intake temps. the lower temperature allows more timing without knock, allows a more dense air charge and the ability to add more fuel with the same amount of boost pressure.

The TVS 1900 biggest flaw is that the intercooler is right under the screws, it cools the air and it gets re-heated as it passes down to the bottom of the case, up and around each side and finally down into the intake manifold runners. there is too much surface area along that path through passages that are already heat soaked because they sit on top of a hot engine.

Problem 2 their water pump doesn't flow as many GPM as the e force and I don't know if the actual heat exchanger in front of the radiator is as large or not.

But I recall you said you had some kind of fancy gauge on your dash to monitor stuff with, pull up Air intake temperature and compare it with the ambient on your navigation screen. under full boost mine usually runs about 30 degrees higher than ambient on a 90 degree day!

with it being cold there now it may not tell you much until spring but try taking a look at it on a hot day and see what it reads.

I hear ya Bass mechanic, but as I have said before, horsepower numbers are horsepower numbers, IAT are just numbers. it what the truck does the track that really really counts.

I have no idea what my truck actually does in the 1/4 my iphone app I don't think is that accurate. but I did have a few laughs racing a riced out Toyota celica GTS with a giant shopping cart wing and a fart exhaust.

I put it in 4wd and proceeded to smoke the piss outta that little POS car. 2 stop lights and his pride still wasn't broke enough to quit trying!

speaking of temps, I don't what is going on here lately it's either temps or barometric pressure but it seems my truck has picked up some additional HP recently. it's definitely faster than it was a month ago.
