Dude, i wouldn't run less than 91 octane with the premium tune. One hard day of driving and your engine will hate you forever.

I run afe cold air intake with throttle body spacer. On the tune I run 75% firm, 100 over stock on Rev limiter and 100 over stock shift points 1-2, 2-3 and 3-4. Above fourth is stock shift points. Premium tune with 91 octane. Seems to run great. Oh and with no top speed limit it's nothing to hit 200 km/h pulling out to pass. The tune really helps out at the 3500 rpm range pulling a hill or passing, it eliminated most of the lag. The throttle response is crisp but the intake and spacer are to thank for that. I recommend hypertech if your looking for a smoother responding machine with a bit more pull than you had leaving the dealership but is definitely not going to make you dragster. I also found of you drive sensible on the highway it improved my gas milage. With 33 inch mudders I can average around 22-25 mpg which in M.O. isn't terrible for a full size pickup. The dealership claims I should get 30 mpg but when has any dealer told you the truth...

If your talking about E85 that's above 93, you run that its good for 25HP on a stock 5.3. If you read your hypertech instructions its in there.

Oh i thought you meant you run 85 octane with the premium tune. My mistake. I've heard horror stories of guys only running 83 or 85 octane on the premium tune which destroyed their engine after a night of heavy driving. 91 octane fuel is most common at the pumps were i live, from what i was told anything below this grade will not be compatible with the hypertech premium tune. I've ran 94 and didn't notice much difference in m.o.

How so? Increased throttle response and better fuel milage after install. Worth the $150 pocket change to me.

150 for tb spacer? you do realize these trucks have direct injection right? that means there is no air/fuel mixture that a tb spacer creates more time for combination. all you're doing is giving air an extra inch before it goes into the cylinder. direct injection means the fuel is input at the cylinder not at the throttle body. your spacer does absolutely nothing. actually 100% of nothing. i'm not being rude, just factual.

Your facts seem right but I don't think it's about the timing for the air to mix, its the motion the spacer creates to help with turbulence as the air and fuel mix. They claim it helps to achieve more "complete" combustion as the air leaves the throttle body and mixes with the fuel at the cylinder, nothing to do with timing. The combustion reaction is achieved with more efficiency when there is a demand for fuel and air when the operator steps on the pedal which gives the machine a quicker response. The time it takes for the reaction to take place is improved from the spacer install; but like you are trying say, the time the fuel and air have to mix together does not change. It's the "motion" of the air as it mixes at the cylinder that improved my throttle response which takes no facts to prove because I drive my truck everyday which is reality, not fact.

Here's the "facts" on how this spacer will work for the ecotech engine, or any fuel injected engine for that matter. Nothing about timing.

No facts, just a product page from a company trying to sell you their product.

Well for those who don't believe all i can say is throw one in and light em up. I break traction far more than ever before I installed it. Don't see any facts saying it doesn't work either...

Do you not understand what direct injection is??? You make no sense, we all buy stupid stuff sometimes but seriously dude you are doing nothing here...

keep it if you like it. it doesn't affect direct injection i dont care what they say.

if i were you i'd just port my intake, thats probably more bang for your buck. although it hardly makes any difference. if i were you i'd spend every penny on a custom tune.
