Tune / Flash / Calibration question?

Hey, I'm hoping someone with more knowledge then me could chime in here.

 

I've read that the new trucks have a "flash" counter that would be tripped and show if a truck has been tuned, even if it has been returned to stock before a dealer visit etc. I've got a Hypertech speedometer calibrator coming and as far as I can tell it's going to trip this flash counter in the same way a tune would. Now granted iv'e read about a lot of people that have used these with no issues at all and clearly a speedometer calibration would not harm a truck. That being said, is it clear what has been changed when this flash counter gets tripped?

 

I've got an extended warrenty on my rig and would hate for the dealer to act shitty and not honour it some time down the road because ive got an extra flash count from this kind of device.

 

Any mechanics here who have seen what this "counter" actually displays? is it ovbious when it's just a speedometer calibration vs some kind of tune?

From what I read on here it counts flashes and can tell weather they are authorized or not. I would ask your dealer. I don't worry about it but that's me.
