Hi guys I am new to this forum and im really frustrated. I just traded for an 01 silverado z71 with the 5.3, when I got the truck the belt was chirping and when u gave it gas it whould get quieter. I replaced both belts the idler pully and the tensioner pully and as soon as I start Iit squeal comes back so this past Saturday I replaced the water pump. Started it and no squeal for maybe 2 minutes. Took for a short drive and after warmed up no squeal at idle just when I give it gas. So sunday I replace altinator because it was chirping turning by hand. Once again on start up no squeal for only a couple of minutes then after warmed up no squeal at idle. Ive taken the belt off of a/c and still does it and I put the old belt on after changing the altinator and the squeal isn't as bad. Truck shows 410 + thousand motor suppose to have 140 thousand any advice is appreciated

Are you using Gates or Goodyear Gatorback belts? Cheap belts can squeal.

Check the alignment of all pulleys to each other

Did it squeal any different with the new pulley(s) and belt? Could be a faulty pulley if so. What brand are the pulleys? I agree with the cheap belts theory, they can cause more problems than actually saving money.
