Superchips 2842 - Flashpaq Tuner

I am thinking of getting a programmer for my truck..... I have been doing some research and think I am going to go with the "Superchips 2842 - Flashpaq Tuner"

1032 reviews on it and it has a 4.5 out of 5 star rating. Plug and play, no other devices needed. USB connection to connect to your PC so you can update it over the internet when updates are available. You can program it on the fly for towing, power, fuel economy and more.....

Anyone have any comments? Suggest another product they like better? Know anything about this product?

Just take the jet chip and flow sensor off. You wasted your money on that. Dont even go with superchips. Get blackbear

Are they hurting my truck? not doing a thing for me is one thing, but are they doing anything bad to my truck or engine or computer?

I will look into Black bear, I am in Canada, I thought they were an American location?

Both are doing nothing but probably running your ecu into an open loop to run really rich fuel. Basically it's probably hurting your gas mileage with very minimum performance gain. Black Bear performance will make you hit your head from just a tune. Night and Day difference.

BlackBear seems to be an American company. They do not have a location in my city in Canada that I can find.....

So since that is now no longer an option for me. What else does anyone suggest?

I live in Canada. Do you ship here and if so, what is the process?

Absolutely! We have many satisfied Canadian customers and the process is not much different than to a US customer. We simply request an additional $25 in shipping for a scan cable tune, $15 for a traditional tune, to help cover the added expense.

I live in Canada and Blackbear has tuned two of my trucks. Holding out on this one because I don't want my warranty voided in the event of some sort of serious failure. Justin does an excellent job. You won't be disappointed.

Black Bear - AutoCal

A few weeks ago I ordered one from Black bear. It was 750.00 CAD taxes included. I got it and had to pay 47.00 Duty

I got a data logger and a cable that I connected it to my truck and drove for 20-30 min. Drive how you would normally drive, some residential, some highway if you can, whatever you like. "When safe" punch it to the floor 2-3 times for a min of 4 seconds and a max of 10....

Get the files off the Data Logger and send them to Black Bear.
Tell them the make and model of any after market parts you have on your truck (Exhaust, cold air, etc, etc). They create you a new tune based off your specific truck, your added parts, and the way you drive. Yesterday I got my new "Tune" and today I installed it.

I have more punch off the line. When I hit the gas for passing on the highway I get up and go. GMC had 158 as the default speed the governor kicked in, I asked them to change it. Not sure what it is now but I was doing 185 at one point and it did not kick-in.... It just has more pep.. Oh and my shifting is smoother.... It has different shift points....

Oh and any future changes to the truck I make, I let them know and they send me a new Tune at no additional cost.

I am happy with it for sure....

GMC had 158 as the default speed the governor kicked in, I asked them to change it. Not sure what it is now but I was doing 185 at one point and it did not kick-in....

Lol, very important for you to let us know that this is in km and not miles. At first I was really impressed. Lol, couldn't believe that someone actually drove these trucks to 185mph.
