Anyone here come from the F150 world? Just curious if you're happy with the switch, what you like and what you don't like. I'm currently in a 2011 Ecoboost F150 but an considering pulling the trigger on a Silverado LTZ.

I just traded a 2011 Ecoboost for a 2015 Sierra Denali. Ive only had ot for a few days but I couldnt be happier. My only complaint it there is no change holder!

Would be nice to know your thoughts.

Both solid trucks, I simply find the seat/steering layout as well as the tuning to fit me better in the GM.

Huge back seat area in the ford!

I had a 2015 F150 XLT Sport on order for 2 months. A similar truck to what I ordered came into stock at a dealership and hour away from me. I went to take it for a spin and check out my future truck. Needless to say...2 days later I had a 2015 Sierra AT in my garage :rollin:

The new F150 was nice but in the XLT trim; even with the "luxury package," it still had a hard plastic interior. The truck drove nice and road nice. The weight loss was definitely noticeable, but that interior just sucked. No interior in a 2015 model year vehicle should be 95% hard plastic...hell my 2013 Kia is all soft touch. I got back into the GMC and it was a night and day difference. Plus the GM holiday sale got me more truck in the GMC for $3k less than the F150. I would have had to spend $5k more to step up to the Lariat trim level to get similar interior amenities compared to the GMC.

GM did a VERY nice job on these new trucks!!!

I came from a 2005 F150 FX4 crew cab I owned for 4 years, and a 2001 F150 XL before that for 4 years. I wanted to go brand new and have a truck that i knew the entire history of and keep it for a long time. I first looked at the F150s and thought they were ok, but priced too high and dealer wasnt budging at all. So i went to chevy and they gave me a lot more truck for a lower price. So I bought a 2014 double cab LT with upgraded package (convenience package?) has leather and heated seats.

I think the styling, fit and form of the chevys are a bit higher quality than the fords. the interior especially. the fords just seemed to be a cheap and not as comfortable.

there are some things i miss about my old f150. keyless entry, limited slip rear end (no stabilitrack or traction contraol BS) and cabin space.

the part im dissapointed about in the new chevy is the drivetrain... It may just be me and getting use to it but it always seems to be doing the opposite of what i want...

push the pedal and it freaks out and tries shifting a couple gears and comes out of AFM abbruplty. let of the pedal and the transmission clunks. just yesterday i felt it even slip shifting up gears!

It feels like the computer is trying to control too many things and stumbles over its own feet. In my ford it was smooth, accelerated smooth, shifted smooth, went down the road nice. even after a transmission rebuild at 190k and 6" lift with 35's!!!

Came from a 2011 Ecoboost with like trim. Comparing a 2011 f150 to the 2014 silverado, I like the chevy exterior better. Interior is obviusly better on it as well as its 3 model years newer. But if you compared a 2011 ford and a chevy, the chevy interior was junk. Overall both good trucks. I will say coming form the eco with 3.73 gearing to a 5.3 with 3.73 gearing was a big difference the eco had lots more power so you may be disapointed. MPG was viturally the same and the eco could tow a lot better. before I made the decision I would test dirve a 15 in each manufacture.

The chevy might tend to be a little cheaper and thats why i went the route I did. All things being equal. Id probably be in the ford instead mainly do to the engine options, as I use my truck for its intended purpose and power train matters to me beyond numbers and sound.

I had a 2011 F150 FX4 with 5.0L and 3.73 gears. While that truck had a little more pep in its step than my Sierra's 5.3L and 3.42 gears. My Sierra is much nicer on the interior and the ride quality is much better. Also slightly better gas mileage, but I still think AFM is JUNK. I could manage around 13-14-15mpg with my Ford's 5.0 around town with my daily driving. And best I saw was 18mpg on the highway.

My Sierra is 15-16-17 around town daily driving. And Ive seen 24mpg on the highway. So only slightly better. around town, but much better on the open road.

But I had the F150 when gas was $4 a gallon and it was really annoying to have to use the pump twice to fill the tank because it would shut off after 90 or 100 dollars. That F150 had a 36 gallon tank....

the new AFM is terribly annoying, especially with any kind of exhaust mod. We have a 2007 tahoe with AFM and you would never be able to tell. with the 2014 it will stay in V4 mode A LOT longer, almost like it wont come out of a higher gear.

Yea. I tuned AFM out long ago. :)

Worthless crap.

what tuner did you use? i was looking at the range just to get rid of AFM, but pricey just to do that.

Did you like the 5.0l in the ford? powerwise and towing?
