Any converts from F150 here?

Had a 2012 F-150 Platinum EcoBoost before this truck and honestly, I could take either one. Each have their good things about them and each have their not so good things about them. I'm also not biased towards one brand or the other, so that helps. I've owned Fords, GMCs, Toyotas and Chevys. To me, it's all about which one I find I like the best at the time I make the purchase.

Would be hard to give that truck up, what package did you go with on your new truck, I would think you would go high country or Danali coming from a platinum?

Actually went with a lower package because I realized that the Platinum was more truck than I needed or would ever need. I'm happy with my LT and getting back to simpler things although I do miss the creature comforts of the Platinum now and again.

My first Chevy truck ever. I have owned several new f150. So far I like the 15 silverado. I do like the interior a little better.

I had a 2003 F150 before my Silverado. I didn't like the 2014 F150's. It was between the Silverado and a Tacoma. Glad I picked the Silverado.

I had a 2011 F-150 Lariat 4x4 with a 5.0L engine. Truthfully, I loved that truck. The 5.0 was awesome and got decent mileage.

I now have a 2014 Silverado LTZ 4x4, 5.3L with 3.42 gears. This too is a great truck and the highway mileage is much better. Town is exactly the same.

I thought my Ford rode better. The back seat, especially with rear air vents was way better than the GM. The ride height was certainly more truck like in the Ford and I will say I had not one mechanical warranty issue with the Ford in three years of ownership. The heated seats were also more functional in the Ford. I also like the old Nav/Sync in the Ford better than the MyLink. The Sony stereo however sounded a bit lesser to the Bose in the Chevy.

The Chevy is MUCH quieter. The OnStar, Heated Steering Wheel, the 5.3L I feel is comparable the 5.0 but i wouldn't try my luck at a stoplight, and the 5.3L seems to tow a little better than the 5.0, maybe more torque lower in revs??

That being said, came time for a new truck, and the one issue I had with my Ford was the aluminum hood corroding on the front edge. Same problem with my 2009 F150, same problem with my 2010 Expedition and I am holding my breath on my 2013 Expedition. Now the Chevy also has an aluminum hood, so we shall see. But I was certain I wasn't going to be the guy who tries the all aluminum F150 the first year!

Will I buy a new GM in a year or so when its time? Don't know. The Ford tranny in my '11 had different but still had quirks so not a deciding factor. The gas mileage is better in the GM but damn I miss my 36 gallon tank in my Ford. My Ford sounded soooooo much better than this GM in terms of stock exhaust, this truck is tooooo quiet outside exhaust wise.

If I buy another GM, it would be the 6.2L just because I would want the 8spd. I would hope by then the MyLink has more apps like my Entune did in my 2013 Avalon and that it would be more responsive and the Navigation would be more accurate and better to use like in the Ford. I also would hope that GM would see fit to add rear air vents and a larger fuel tank.

If I buy the Ford it WILL NOT be the EcoBoost, again the 5.0L is a beast in my opinion. I do like the new panoramic roof in the Ford and I like the ambient lighting. Jury is still out on the new styling.

So there........clear as mud!

Ha. MyFordTouch is why I'd never own a newer Ford. Hate it. Though Chrysler is the best one of the bunch though from my experience. At least Ford trucks still have real buttons- the Taurus I rented this week had no physical buttons aside from volume and fan knobs.

I agree on the Connect. My daughter has it in her '14 Challenger and it is the best of all i have ever used.

This is my first Chevy after 5 F-150's and 4 Mustang's. Ford keeps making the vehicles more euro styled which will do well in some areas but I like the aggressive American look and Chevy nailed it with the new truck. Subtle but noticeable changes to what I think was previously the best body style truck ever (07-13), The bumpers are a bit much on these new trucks but nothing aftermarket cant fix!

Did your 2011 have the MyFord stuff or just Sync? I loved the basic Sync Ford used to use. I wanted to clarify cause they call the new stuff Sync too.

I had the full Nav System and Sync. Have the same system in my Expedition. Maybe I am just used to it, but it sure responds faster than this GM system, the graphics are much better and the travel link apps are much better in the Ford (weather radar).

Now I like a lot of the features on the screen for the radio on the GM, its just it lags so much.

One thing I also hope GM improves is the throttle tip in. Drive my truck and then jump in our Ford and it feels like a rocket but that 5.4L in the Expedition is anything but......

Unfortunately it's not likely that we'll see any official changes to the throttle response. Even if individuals within GM wanted to, it would never make it past the legal department. Aftermarket solutions are out there though.

I disagree regarding My Ford Touch vs. MyLink. I find the Ford Touch in my wife's Edge to be horribly slow. Scrolling through radio presets is miserable. I also don't like the omission of KNOBS. If I want to turn up the heat in her car I have to go through the damn touchscreen menus. It can be cumbersome when you're trying to drive.

I also came from a 2011 F150 ecoboost. Only thing I miss is the low end grunt. Hated the 4x4 system in it. My 2000 Z71 held the ground better in 4x4 than the ford. And, I had a lot of little issues with the ford. Too soon to say if I will have them with the GMC as well, but so far so good!

I don't know if it counts. But I drive Ford trucks and vans at work.

Long story short...

I really like the F350 Powerstroke...but hate the econoline van.

Neither of them convinced me to buy a Ford though.

I love the ford econoline van!.... said no one ever.... lol I don't think there is anyone that likes the econoline van it is used for practicality they are very uncomfortable to drive and if you get in a front end collision you are screwed!
