Curious on t-case conversion

Im just curious on what it would take to swap an 02 2500 HD transfer case into an 02 1500 auto trac. Im not a big fan of auto 4 anyways

Not sure if input splines for transfer case match between the two (that is if 4L60 and 4L80 have different output shaft splines). Also, being non-auto trac, the switches are different, transfer case control modules are different, encodor motors are most likely different which in turn the wiring and connector ends are most likely different as well.

A ton of wiring, switch, tccm, shafts, and finding someone willing to program it

Switch would be easy to swap, custom shaft, pull a TCCM from a totaled 02 2500, pay the dealer to flash it. I guess the hardest part would be the connectors i guess i would need a new harness to the pcm

Tons of wiring would be needed, they use a different TCCM I believe. The 246 is a good box, no reason to change.

Easiest/cheapest way in that case is to probably just buy the HD truck.

Out of curiosity why would you want the bigger t-case? And having auto 4wd is definatley a benefit over the 2500's which dont
