Rough country 2.5"? What type of tires are you running?

Also any idea what your fender to ground measurements are?

Thanks, truck looks great!

Yes the RC 2.5. I believe it was ground to center of wheel well 41..... it was 39 prior to tires but I can measure tonight if you need it. I am running the 295/55/20 Toyo Open Country Mud Terrain. At first I didn't like the noise. Only because coming from a quite truck it was a huge change. However, the look and the need is why I got them. My buddy has the Toyo at2 and in the snow last week he was sliding all over. My mts hooked up and never hesitated.[emoji106] [emoji106] [emoji106] [emoji106]

Yah if you wouldn't mind getting a front & back measurement that would be great. I was set on going with the 2.5" up front then swapping the block in the back to keep 0.5-1" of rake but I don't want it any higher than that. Pictures are very misleading depending on the angle it was taken. Toyo MT's are definitely a great tire in the mud and snow, but I know a few people with them and they're just too loud for me. Also pretty horrible in the winter on hard packed ice. My truck see's 95% highway so I'm sticking with the All Terrains.

running 295/55 also.

You also just running the 2.5" up front?, if you could get me the same measurements that would be awesome to compare. I'll be running the same factory wheels as you, any rubbing on the sway bar at full lock?

Yeah the 10ply and deep lugs add to the overall weight for sure... for that reason alone I might stick with the 295/55r20's.

From Toyo's website:

Size: Load/Speed: Rim: Weight: Tread: Dia: Width: Max load:

LT295/55R20 123/120S 10 E XT 8.0-9.5-10.0 60 16.3 32.8 12.2 3415

LT305/55R20 121/118S 10 E XT 8.5-9.5-11.0 74 16.3 33.2 12.4 3195

For 0.4" in overall height and 0.2" in width I can't justify 14 extra pounds per tire, and even less load capacity.

For what it's worth Nitto makes the Terra Grappler G2 in a 305-55-20XL which is only 50lbs. Its a 4 ply extra load tire instead of an E rated 10 ply so you can get the looks you want but retain the cushy ride of the passenger tires if you don't tow a whole lot or need a 10 ply. It also comes with a 65k warranty.I will probably be ordering these pretty soon.

I have the Toyo Open Country At2 on my truck now about 2k miles on them) which I absolutely love but they are size 275-60-20 and are too skinny for my liking and unfortunately to get the size I want I would have to step up to an E load tire which I would like to avoid. The new Nitto G2 has the same treadwear warranty the Toyo does.

Hope this helps some!

RC 2" front only. 39" front 40" in rear

no rubbing

Thanks! Crazy how there's so much variations between trucks... I've strictly asked crew cab short boxes because I know different cab/box lengths will vary heights.

In theory if you went with the 2.5 RC kit, you'd be 39.5/40 which is ideal... but some people end up nose high with stock blocks.

Here's a video of a crew cab standard box getting a 2.5 RC kit with rear block and 305/55r20's. Its kinda hard to see from the video here's the approx measurements:

Stock height with 275/55r20: 37" Front 38.75" Rear

Leveled/Block with 275/55r20: 39.5" Front 39.75" Rear

Leveled/Block with 305/55r20: 40.25" Front 40.5" Rear

Those measurements seem like they'd be perfect, but apparently it's not the same for everybody. I guess I'll just go with the 2.5" kit, throw in the front only and see how looks. At least I'll have the blocks if I need them.

Looked into those Nittos and even the passenger rated 305's are the same price as the load range E. For the money i'll probably play it safe and stick with the toyo extreme's as i know they're a great performer.

Here's mine with 305/50/20 Terra grapplers. I just have a 2" level though. There really not any taller than a 275/55/20 but the added width definitely improves the stance. Speedos still accurate too.

Love your set up. Do you know how much the wheels/tires stick out from the fenders? Do you remember the specs on the wheels? Love the moto metal wheels

Thanks man. They stuck out about an inch. Wheels were actually Gear Alloy 726mb 20x9 with a 0 offset. I have since switched to some 17x8.5 +0 Method Racing NV305s on 285/70 Duratracs.

Like the truck, I have a white one also and a set of matte black 17s with 285 75 17 from my 02 that I've been thinking of putting on. Your the first I saw that went that route. Do you think those would have cleared before the leveling kit?

I really don't know. It would probably be pretty close with the wheels at +0. I would think you'd be fine if the wheels have a little more positive offset. I have a 1.5" body lift in addition to the 2" level and I probably couldn't go too much bigger without rubbing. I'd say a 285/75 or 295/70 would be the biggest I could go.

I just put at 3.5" Front 1.5" Rear lift on my 2015 Sierra Denali 4x4. Any advice on the best tire size to use with this lift?

I was told by the guys at the shop to look at 295/60.20 which Toyo M/T and Nitto make tires that'll fit. They're almost 34' tall and over 11" wide.

I was also told that more than likely the 305/55's will rub because they are too wide.

Any advice?

    • Hello hello looking forward to expanding my knowledge of the 2026 2500 HD that I just bought.   Truck has 3500 miles on it four-wheel-drive crew cab and I’m about to put a 6 1/2 inch BDS lift on it 18 x 10 -25 offset with 37’s   Already have the wheels and tires just waiting on the lift install in about three weeks   Question what surprises am I not gonna be happy with?  I’m not new to lifted trucks so I know that acceleration towing gas mileage all that is affected..   Question is those of you that have this truck this powertrain with a 10 speed Allison and have done the mods that I’m doing,,, how bad is it? Is that Allison constantly gonna be hunting for the right gear to go into? And what about towing, acceleration, fuel consumption as mentioned?    Lastly how come I can’t find any ring pinion gear set up for these axles and when could I expect to see them?   I apologize if there’s any typos I’m doing speech to text on my iPhone.
    • I've got a 2013 2500 6.0L Flexfuel. Drove the truck earlier today with no issues. Went to run an errand tonight and noticed key fob wouldn't work. Figured battery was dead, so replaced fob batter. Still wasn't working. Grabbed my other set of keys with the other fob and that one wasn't working either. So I manually unlock truck and insert key. Interior lights come on, dashboard lights up, turn key and truck starts. Turn truck off, like a moron, and try starting again. This time no crank, no click, no nothing. Lights still come on and dash lights up, but now I'm getting a service 4wheel drive, service tire monitor, etc. Check voltage on battery and Im showing 12.2v. Throw my battery charger on it and give it 15 mins and try starting again. But still no crank no start. Decide maybe its a bad battery, run to autozone grab a new one and put it in. Same issue. Disconnect battery and let it sit for 15 mins. Try again and still nothing. I had managed to roll the windows down earlier as its a humid night, but now I can't get them to roll up. Power locks are also not working now. Then randomly I try the key again, and it fires right up. Immediately I roll up the windows as we have nothing but rain forecast this week. I shut it back off wait 30 seconds and start up again. Worked a 2nd time. So turn it off, start putting things back together. Try one more time, and back to no crank no start. And now the car alarm starts going off. Had to disconnect battery and leave it that way for the night as I don't think my neighbors would appreciate my alarm going off again tonight. Any thoughts or help would be appreciated.
    • No one will care for you like you care for you. Do what you can for as long as you can. IMHO of course.
    • How about them NICKS!!!
    • Hi there.  Long time lurker, first post.    i have read the previous posts regarding the water ingress problem with this emblem.  I bought my 1500 SLT the  summer of 2025 new and after reading the MANY problems with these emblems failing I decided to install one anyways.  As per a YouTube video, I sealed ( or tried to) this sign with silicone sealant around the outer perimeter joint and the holes that were already somewhat sealed on the rear plate of the emblem.  And installed the connector assembly using dielectric grease on the connectors. The installation looked great and worked well for about 4 months……then FAILURE.  Grrrrrr…… I live in the great white north and wash my truck weekly in an automatic car wash  to keep the salt off.  Let me tell you that removing the old, failed emblem is a whole different animal than removing the OEM individual letters without removing the grill assembly. Mainly because the illuminated logo is built differently than the original letters which  you can remove the red surface lettering with a knife or some kind of blade which gives access to the tabs which hold the logo onto the grill. So I had to essentially destroyed the old emblem to remove it. Doing so killed my chance of doing somekind of autopsy on the failed , old logo.  But there was plenty of water inside when I ripped it apart.  Prior to installing the new assembly I tried it with the old harness and it works fine.   Does anyone have any insight as to where the water is getting into this emblem? I intend to seal the new logo with slow curing epoxy this time around using a syringe.  I think this newer emblem may be an updated unit which I hope GM got the vendor to fix. It has an October 2025 date on it.    If this one  fails,  I am just going to revert back to the non-illuminated letters….AFTER PULLING THE GRILL.    Any thoughts on sealing with epoxy would be appreciated. Thx!   Doug
