I have a 2014 silverado. I've had it at the service center for numerous issues. The service manager came to me and said he talked to their gm rep and said they would trade me out of this vehicle from all the problems I've had. Has anybody had experience with this? He did say it wouldn't fall under a lemon but they would work a better trade for me.

0 issues for me as well, but it seems like it's hit or miss. Some have 0 issues while others seem to have nothing but issues or has a problem that can't seem to be fixed. Then of course 1 now and then that gets the problem fixed. All I can say is try another one and see how it goes. As long as you get another one that's equal to what you have now then I don't see a problem since you also won't lose anything. Just the next one make sure you do a good test drive if you're able to on all types of roads.

I had a 14 with issues. They offered to trade me straight across for a 15 with same options. Took about 2 weeks for mine to finalize and get me into the new truck. New has NO problems. Easy experience for me.

Now if I could get them to realize the GMC truck have i is a lemon I'd be happy.. CA do sent seem to care like the old GM.

Thanks everybody for the responses. The issues I had are rear noise, rough shifting and 4 wheel drives issues. They never can get it right. I've had issues with my nav and speakers too. Rattling interior and wind noise also.

if they are offering you to swap it fo a new one ide personally do it, even if i didnt have any issues. new truck, zero miles on it....try and get a couple options that you may have missed out on your current one.

then take a 15 with the new software in the nav, 4g and wifi, couple little extra things in the z71 pack (i think its a angle sensor) and get the 8 speed transmission.

 

if you are having headaches with it, why hold on.

Same here, process took about 2 weeks. They replaced mine with a 2015 also. No more issues.

85 mph and it is smooth as silk.

Had mine swapped out back in September due to a lot of issues. Drivers side wind noise , passenger door rattle, transfer case shifting into nuetral after recall done, transmission not shifting out of second gear going down the road. Purchased the truck new July 5th traded September 20th with only 6100 miles on it. The paid off that one and let me pick another one of the lot and gave me 8k in rebates it was like starting from scratch all over again. I drove 5 different ones on the lot before I decided. So far 6k miles on the new one without any issues. I am pleased to say GM did right by me.

      Its coolant disguised as oil.   TSB 20-NA-166 -  20-NA-166 1..3   "To inspect for this concern, add coolant dye to the system, run the engine through warm up, pressurize the cooling system after warming the engine to operating temperature (let the engine cool overnight) and inspect the suspect cylinder with a borescope for coolant dye evidence. At times it may be necessary to remove the head for inspection. If the head casting line is the concern, the intake port will be wet with a coolant oil mix"

      Can you sample the pooled liquid, enough to confirm it is oil?   ...That its not fuel or coolant.   Also, make sure combustion gases aren't entering the cooling system.   Simply put, either oil being pushed up past the rings (this really isn't possible), oil leaking past the head gasket, oil leaking past the valve, oil entering through the intake air path. If none of this is likely - it may not be oil.   What could be likely is the fuel injector leaking down. A puddle of gas would still smoke and rough idle. (Same cylinder has the same problem after injector replacement?)   What is the crank time first thing in the morning, when the puddle would be present? Does it seem like the high pressure fuel pump needs an extra second or two to rebuild the pressure that injector 8 may have let bleed off? Check the fuel pressure via a scanner prior to starting the engine.

      Good information!  I didn't know about the dementia aspect and asked for a general for my second knee. I'd heard that recovery room time is usually shorter with a general.   The anesthesiologist talked me out of it and I had the spinal.  Inconvenience and/or discomfort is a small price to pay for reduced risk!

      This is for those over 70 years of age contemplating joint replacement surgery involving general anesthesia. Even some 55 yrs. ago when I took my pharmacology class the dangers of developing dementia in the elderly that had general anesthesia were beginning to be recognized. Over the years there has been some refinement in the cautionary warnings, avoid general anesthesia if possible if you've had close to 10 priors, especially over the age of 70 and/or a family history of dementia. I'm not including the twilight anesthesia induced by propofol often used in cytoscopies or colonscopies. Seriously think about seeing a neurologist and undergo cognitive testing before proceeding if any of those criteria apply to you. Spinal anesthesia may be an option in some cases. I'm in the above camp and although I could use a new right knee, I get fidgety according to a prior orthopedic surgeon when the bone saw spools up or maybe it was the smell of saw blade meeting bone, anyhow I may have one general anesthesia left in me which I will pocket for now and I'm choosing mind over mobility, anyway where did I leave my damn cane!
