Tesla P85D vs Challenger Hellcat

Just the sound of the Hellcat though not as nice as that of a Vette, is enough in my opinion to scare the silly little electromotor off the track.

I'm not convinced it isn't broken. 300 HP isn't anything these days- you can buy a Camry with almost as much HP. They could do so much more with it but especially now that the Evo is gone they won't.

Thing is, due to the few changes over the years the aftermarket is massive for them.

Newer will do around 270 to the wheels with a tune. That said there are more than a couple running around in the 400-500 range with just turbo/tubing/tune.

I'm happy with the 220 hp in the 944, might not be much but it's still the fastest car I've driven. Although in a few years when I have $ I want to rebuild and bump to 300.

The thing about the Hellcat, is if you have the money, why not? For me, it would be more convenient than a Tesla, and a whole lot cooler.

I'm on board with the Hellcat. Out of my price range but I love it if nothing else for how absurd it is.

Dumb, electrics will be faster than internal combustion has or ever will be. Once the tech matures a little and the oil companies loose their grip on the market.

Racing electric cars will be amazing. Imagine instant torque, no power bands, no gear changes, less points of failure...

True, but there is no replacement for standing track side at a top fuel match, or within a mile actually... Watching electric drag cars/bikes is impressive for what they can do, but that sound, or lack thereof is just underwhelming.

Check out the lap times at the end... STi beat the Charger Hellcat. :)

Doesn't matter. 700>305.

Thr tesla has no transmission. It is a motor at each wheel i believe. They had the undercarriage of one in the tesla store out in Santa Monica

Whatever it has... You still put the pedal to the floor and you'll go, just like an auto.

$36k<<<<<$62k ;)

You have to be impressed that a car barely out of the "economy" price bracket with well under half the horsepower can even come close.

For me, boxer rumble vs supercharger whine is a hard pick. I love the way both of them sound. Hearing the whine in the cabin while he was driving made me smile.

It's still just a Subaru. Nothing grand about it. Just like the old Eclipse turbos. We are talking real cars, not rice burners. :flag:

"real cars". Here ya go.

Stupid rice burners

I like many cars. But there is definitely a place for Subarus, just like there is a place for a $62,000 car with 700hp.

Yeah but maybe not here. Too long! And I own an STi.
