The race is misleading & is making headlines pretty much everywhere.

Still worth the watch & discussion.

considering the hellcat got about 6.5 secs below what it is capable of on street tires in a drag, this pretty much comes down to driver ability. Also I believe the p85D is awd, so that equals easier launch and better grip.

Yeah, that is the misleading part. The headlines are all saying the electric car beats 700+hp Hellcat. <~ See what I mean?

Thinking w/o looking that Tesla is $120,000+ msrp?

The obvious is throw some drag radials & a driver that knows what he is doing in the Challenger to run side x side for a better graphic.

But the good thing is the tech is there & becoming on the electric side. Was listening to a report this morning about all the oil drillers closing shop due to low oil prices.

Speculators are already at it, saying gas will be $5 a gallon by the fall 2016 elections.

Misleading? He lost, whether it be mechanical, driver, or racing a better car. He needs to learn how to drive

He bumped it right before the start, almost a false start. What it comes down to is AWD>2WD.... Especially with a driver who can't launch.

I'd rather have 2 or 3 STi's over either of those cars... :driving:

Maybe a decade ago. Subaru isn't even trying anymore. Same engine, tune seems to get worse each year.

This Tesla is plain awesome and I just saw one this past Friday during lunch.

And I wouldn't think twice about leasing the base Model S for a dd, but I don't care for this electric tank as a fun sports sedan.

Smoke em if you got em!? Bad representation of the hellcat. But a loss is a loss. Not indicative of potential though. Hellcat on drag radials can do 10s and the tesla, I believe, does low 11s. Still quite amazing on both fronts, and humbling.

I know they aren't doing anything new and that's what I like. Isn't broken and they aren't trying to fix it. The only major change has been addition of CVT in most models and some styling changes.

I haven't seen many WRX/STi's without Cobb or similar stickers on them.

The challenger driver is completley incompetent as a drag racer, still that tesla is a very fast car... Automatic and AWD leads for a very easy race. Also I could be wrong but it looks like the challenger may be a manual... Id assume if the car was auto it would have some kind of launch control with that kind of power... Driver should of just been able to floor it had have it take off... Looks like he stomped on it and just redlined

Thr tesla has no transmission. It is a motor at each wheel i believe. They had the undercarriage of one in the tesla store out in Santa Monica

Bah. Telsa doesn't even count, doesn't have a real engine, just a motor.

Up at altitude:

And with the right tires:

I'm not convinced it isn't broken. 300 HP isn't anything these days- you can buy a Camry with almost as much HP. They could do so much more with it but especially now that the Evo is gone they won't.

over on Allpar, a Dodge Dealer took 2 Hellcats to a Dragstrip to see if the Numbers Dodge was advertising were really obtainable. Here's the Article in Question: http://www.allpar.com/news/index.php/2015/01/hellcat-time-slips-revisited-video

and there's a picture on there that tells how much Grunt these Hellcat Engines REALLY Have.

    • Was all the way down to $3.69 a gallon but then jumped back to $3.99 just because for some reason.   Diesel floats between $4.80's to $5.10ish a gallon. I even saw Diesel #1 for $6.09 today but nobody in there right mind even buys that in the summer.
    • Mine just keeps lagging or getting stuck on the reverse camera. When I turn off the truck, get out, and close the door it will still stay on. It’s very intermittent and I would not be able to duplicate the issue.
    • I was checking out fuel prices at my farm fuel retailer at their pumps and yes the farm price is a bit lower than the non dyed fuel and was glad to see that the regular farm gas price has dropped a lot from what it had been but what blew me away was the price of diesel as the spread now compared to before the prices went up earlier in the year, diesel was actually slightly lower than gas which was a switch from the theme the last number of years. However that sure isn't the theme lately and definitely not right now. The prices I will post are not from that retailer but just looking at gasbuddy for the main city in this area and instead of posting the lowest price someone found I will list the higher price ( and that may not be the highest price, just whatever someone posted on gasbuddy ).   So regular gas and there are a lot of stations listing the same price for regular is 1.68 a liter, premium 2.00 a liter. Diesel 2.03 a liter for a top price I saw on diesel.   Figures out to 6.36 a us gallon Canadian funds for regular and 7.68 for diesel. With the US exchange rate it would be 4.58 us for regular and 5.53 for diesel.    Thought I would figure that out to get a picture of what it settles out like compared to various US prices and its about the same as the current price in Fairbanks AK as Anchorage tends to be lower. So yes, these would be the prices and higher along the way on the Alaska highway where they know they have a captured market !, for fuel prices for those beginning the long drive back to the lower 48   The problem is our Canadian dollar and going to the states that have the high prices, boy do we pay then !
    • Just wanted to get a idea of how many of you still have problems with your radio cutting out during the first few minutes of driving, my 2024 GMC Sierra still does this after a little over 2 years of complaining to my dealer about it, and OTA updates no longer complete, the check for updates in settings is greyed out for the second time while trying to install a update, my dealer took about a week to play around with it the first time this happened, and somehow got the check for updates to work, even though it would always show system is up to date when I knew it wasn't, now again 1 month later its greyed out again when the OTA update N25-F163BU tried to install, which ironically is the update to help with reliability of future updates.
