GMC Accessories Site Questions: Wheels

I'm looking at new GMC 1500, switching back to GM after owning my first and last Ford product (Eco boost 150), but not sure which GM truck yet probably a GMC.

I went to the GMCaccessories.com site and looked at the wheels available. Decent choice.

I plan on running two sets for ordinary driving 9 months then hunting/winter season for balance.

Can these 22" wheels be swapped onto a new truck for the original 18"'s with no other changes like a recalibration/change of speedo gear (or anything else)?

I see the Carbon Edition series has 22" wheels, but wanted to ask you all just to be sure.

This one GMC accessory 22" wheel shown in the link looks to have black inserts on the top two spokes only of the wheel and at 4 and 8 o'clock....am I seeing things/my display or is this the design?.

Thanks in advance for the help......I am burnt out already looking at options and packages from GMC and Chevy, they certainty are not friendly anymore (at least to my old brain).

No inserts just shadow/glare. Stock size is 285/45R22 which would be the same overall diameter of the tires that came stock with 18's

. If I were to purchase a second set rims/tires would check out OE WHEELS LLC and click GMC wheels sets, some tire shops will order them. Don't forget lugs ,locks and TPMS , valve stems .

I was at the Chevy dealership in the parts department and overheard a conversation between the parts guy and a customer. The parts guy said GM won't sell the 22" wheels unless they're supplied a police report or insurance claim. I don't know how much validity there is to that statement, but I found it interesting.

That would be false. That is probably their excuse for them being difficult to get and expensive.

Yeah my parts guy quoted me $4100 for 22" rims, tires and sensors. I passed since that was more than I wanted to spend. If I ordered a truck from the factory with the 22's they were only $2800 extra.....

I ordered a 2015 Denali and had the dealer install 22" GM wheels on it, along w/ the tires GM provides for their 22" wheels, when they took delivery. I did this because the dealer gave me a great price for the wheels vs. ordering them installed on the truck at the factory. It definitely required reprogramming of the speedo. I suspect that if you were going to switch these wheels back and forth, you would also require a speedo reprogram. IIRC, I believe it would've been off by about 7 mph at 65 mph, but I don't recall whether the speedo would read faster or slower than actual speed. It would obviously make the odometer inaccurate as well.

They 22 inches wheels came on my truck when I got it. I put a bed rung in the back, put on the AMP folding running boards, and tinted the windows.

This info is incorrect, as long as you use the stock size tires that GM provides with the 17", 18", 20" and 22" wheels then there is no calibration change needed as they all have very similar overall tires height and rolling circumference. There is no way for the dealer to re-calibrate the ECM under the factory system on the 2014+ trucks. Only way to do it is thru aftermarket devices or programming.

Do you have any additional pictures of the wheels and in sunny conditions perhaps? I have the same color and tint too. I was about to buy some 22" and I'm not sure if I would like the silver vs. polished aluminum on the factory 20s. I'm very interested to see more pics if you have them!

I waiting on my 2015 Denali 6.2 that I ordered. It's suppose to be delivered March 6th, after it gets here with the stock 20" rims, I'm swapping out those for a set of GM 22" chrome as well. Dealer said appx stock plus $2,000 to upgrade. Choices...

I wish they had this rim in a factory 20". ( SEY style ) I only 2500 miles on my truck, and you couldn't get these on the NHT package. :tear: And I wanted the NHT package more than the rims.

    • Notes 7/18/2026   3,400 miles on this batch of Mobil 1 Euro 5W40 since the GDI pump replacement. Alcohol runs very clean when ring seal is tight and the sump isn't getting hosed with fuel. Checked oil level at fill up today as is my practice and grabbed a white Kleenex to look at the color. What color?  I was going to change it but.....
    • 4 low is really nice on steep boat ramps.
    • Interesting, I suspect I would have fueled up in Lee Vining as the day prior I would have filled up either in Laughlin or near there and maybe again before I entered Death Valley and once out the other side late that evening as I kept on driving into the night up near Lee Vining. Next morning I most likely fueled up in LV before heading over Tioga Pass into ( as I refer to it as "Yose .... Mite" 😁 ). And again that was 19 years ago but the price then must not have jumped out at me like the 5 bill a gallon theme of nutty cult hippy country Big Sir or head so far up their rear Aspen. I'd be curious to know where the highest prices are in the lower 48, I probably would not be far off to guess somewhere in Cali forn ie. Coldfoot and Prudhoe bay may have those prices beat but that is a whole other world up there and when prices are more normal elsewhere that is about what they can be up there I believe in no mans land. Anyway interesting that the 395 corridor is hosing people and the thing is, its tourist season and its not like there are a lot of competition options when driving up that highway from what I could see. Yup, big ole Boaterhomes and various other RV's ahead and behind me at the Yosemite entrance gate and they have to get their fuel somewhere.
    • Those can be high, as well as the big California cities. The ones that will pop your eyes out are the 395 corridor on the Eastern side of the Sierra Nevadas. Lee Vining, $7.19 for regular and $8.89 for diesel is what the Google said right now.
    • Correct.  2019-2021 model years are serviced by a different p/n.  19420611.  Recall 2021s use 19420611.   The recall engines 2022-2024 model years are serviced with 12740076.     The difference between 19420611 and 12740076 is GM changed injector size for 2022.  The injectors are smaller on 12740076 with smaller injector bores in the cylinder heads to match the smaller injectors.  So you can't install a 19420611 in a 2022-2024, and you can't install a 12740076 in a 2019-2021.     Both engines are the replacement engine p/ns that are in the L87 recall.  So both of these are the updated engines.     Here's a version of the L87 recall with the p/ns for all the parts needed.    RCRIT-25V274-7075.pdf   Note it shows 19420611 and 12740076 with an asterisk to a footnote "Use the VIN and the GM Electronic Parts Catalog (EPC) to determine which part to order if two or more part numbers are listed for the same part, as it may vary by vehicle options."
