GMC emblem install template anyone?

Does anybody have or know where I can get a template for the installation of the rear GMC emblem for the tailgate and the Z71 badges on the fenders? I am going to debadge my Sierra to cut the orange peel out of the truck and only want to put back on the GMC in the rear and retain the fender Z71 emblem.

 

All those letters will make it a pain to detail and not worth it to me except for the GMC emblem (have a custom set of subdued GMC emblems) and the Z71 as I like the look of both.

Not sure about the GMC emblem, but the Z71 4x4 fender badges come with a foam template attached. Just peel off the backer, and the badge sits in the foam, spacing everything perfectly. Once the badge is installed, just pull the foam off the letters and numbers.

 

I would imagine the GMC emblem comes the same way to keep the letters on the same line, and space correctly.

 

Were you buying new emblems/badges, or putting new tape on your old ones?

 

If new, there should be no worries. If the old ones, make your templates before removing them as stated earlier.

I will be getting new emblems. Usually before, emblems would be on a backing with marks on the sheet with placement marks, but when I looked at the pictures of the new GMC emblem, it was just on a regular backing to keep the adhesive from going bad and no template.

 

But if there are no templates, I guess I will make my own.

I can take pictures of it when I get home later this week. It is an overlay and I got it from [email protected] . He has an ebay store and you can email him and he can do custom ones for you.
