2004 Tahoe shocks

Bilstein 4600 or 5100.

I have the 4600 on my 2WD Silverado and they're better in every way than my previous (blown out) OEM shocks.

But keep in mind that tires and their respective psi will also affect the overall ride. I'm usually at 38psi hot with my latitude tours and its a good balance.

I second Bilstein, if you use "parts store" brands most are very short lived. I haven't used them on my truck but based on previous experience a highend Monroe is decent but still wont hold a candle to Bilstein.

Where would be best place to order them from Dwayne? White1500 do you remember the part number by chance

I use shockwarehouse.com and summit. Shockwarehouse.com will give you the part numbers you need since your part numbers will be different from those on a truck

I'm sorry , for an 11 yr old truck , what is wrong with using factory shocks?

and has the trucks shocks been inspected ??

I went with the Bilsteins B6 shocks and rear springs, got a great ride from it.

Why wouldn't you replace shocks with better aftermarket versions? In my case the front right shock was leaking and the rest were in very bad condition's, dampening was minimal.

Right now I'm trying to convince my dad to get the 5100's for his '06 4x4.

And as you can see, the front shocks were different lengths when uncompressed. End of service life was ions ago!

Bilsteins are likely better and cheaper.

Was a time when Bilsteins were an available factory upgrade.
