Annoying center console Squeak.

No sure what is not showing. Everything shows on my 3 windows computers an 2 Samsung devices,

Was there a step 1? I don't see that. Just having the hardest time trying to get this trim peice off. Pretty much pull up from the directions is what I get. I don't think the wood peices would come out on their own without the entire trim peice coming off.

Thanks

They are somewhat difficult the first time. Fastened down securely. I've had the best luck starting towards the rear. Once one side is loose, the rest comes up easier.

Thanks T barn.

When you say the back do you mean closest to the USB, power outlets or where the center console lid is ?

Thats correct. Be careful around the latch area, the plastic is thin.

Where can I buy felt tape?

I bought the felt flocking tape from Kent automotive. It was $30 shipped. It's like the prices on the back of the seatbelt release. Black and feels like felt.

Which means that if you bend it too much, it will permanently discolor in the damaged area. In the worst case you will break it.

Felt around where the latch engages and locks down my center console lid solved my noises! Best mod on my truck yet lol

Anyone have a suggestion on how to stop a squeak around the silver trim piece on the cupholder of a 2016 silverado. They changed the cupholder on the 2016 to where you cannot move it and it makes an annoying squeaking sound especially when it is cold.

My console lid squeaks right where it latches when I ride with my elbow on top of the console. I'm about to put some weatherstripping on it and see if it stops it.

I had the same annoying squeak from the center console, but the "rattle/squeak," only showed up after about 20K miles. To get rid of the noise, I simply stuck a small round piece of round felt on the outer rim of the center console lid, and the noise is gone.

Pretty Ridiculous for Chevrolet's "Top-Of-The-Line" truck......... R
