So I've noticed twice now steam coming from my grille, once was after a carwash and now today in light rain. Anyone else experience this? should I be worried?

A lot have seen it. None have any idea how it happens.

Mine does it. Not 100% sure where it's coming from, but it's near the radiator so I've assumed that water is somehow getting directly onto the hot side. Haven't noticed any bad things from it yet.

Engine and cooling components are hot, enough said. If it's doing it without any additional water, then I'd worry! On one of my older Dodge trucks, driving up a curb would twist the frame enough that the radiator would leak and steam, haha.

My GT500 has the large heat extractors in the hood, and it would even steam up the outside of windshield in the rain occasionally.

Radiator is around 200 degrees plus cold rain water or car wash hitting the radiator & it makes steam.

Happens to me as well but I figured it was water on the rad as well. But to be honest it is a little scary seeing the steam rising from your engine bay.

As i sat at the car wash this morning every car that came out before mine had steam coming from the front end...

There is another thread about this and people found coolant leaks...keep an eye and nose out. Mine did it and I swear I smelled burning coolant after lifting the hood. Coolant levels look good. Need to get in there and really look though

Seeing the water vapour is a lot more common now that we don't have engine fans running all the time.
