Torque App, Flex Fuel

Just ordered it from gmpartsdirect for $59 to my door. I'll post my results for anyone other than me that might care. Haha

Good luck...quick question...does the fuel line have the quick disconnects in that area or do you need different fuel lines too?

From what I remember, there is no quick disconnect lines under there. My first goal is to plug it in and see if the computer recognizes it being there through my Torque app, and depending on my findings I'll take the next step.

Update on this project. Got the flex fuel sensor in the mail, took the dummy plug out of the end of the connector on the truck, and plugged the new sensor in. Plugged in my obdIi dongle, started my truck, and went to my realtime ethanol % display........its a bust. Not recognized as a sensor that is giving an output. I don't know if it's disabled in the computer or just dead ended in the wiring harness, but either way it doesn't output a reading. I was also looking at parts fiches and under the truck and it looks like it would be an entire replacement fuel line to do this as well. There are no connections whatsoever under the truck to slip the sensor in so the FFV trucks must have a completely different fuel line on them.

I'm assuming at this point that to convert to FFV that the sensor, replacement fuel line(s) and tuning are required? Anyone have more information or go any further with this?

many have installed the flex sensor, mostly vette guys. you just install the sensor at the fuel rail and then activate it in the tune.

Maybe you could extend the harness up to the fuel inlet (not rail on di engines) near the intake and hook it up there. This is what I'm planning on doing with my 6.2 once I find someone to tune it in. I believe all non flex fuel trucks need the sensor and codes enabled. I've heard everything else is in the ECM on the 5.3's just gm did not install a sensor and enable its function. Although I heard over the vette forums plugging it in, it will read % but everything needs to be filled out ECM wise.

My 2015 6.2 stock tune has the Virtual (non physical) Flex sensor enabled from the factory but has a non flex fuel stoich table. I haven't taken delivery yet but when I do I will change the stoich table to flex numbers and see if it works like GenIV virtual flex trucks with no sensor.
