The 4.3l is easily the most impressive in terms of gains in the Gen V lineup.

Going from 195hp to 285hp, and 260ft lbs to 305ft lbs basically changes the 4.3l from an engine no one would want to own to an engine anyone who was happy with Gen IV 4.8l or 5.3l would be satisfied driving.

I couldn't get the launch video or the 1-100 mph video to play.

Never mind, they just load very slowly...your truck runs and sounds great!!

Yeah very impressed with the DI 4.3 Wish I would have got the 5.3 with the numbers they produce but very happy with the 4.3 and can't wait to see how much more I can get out of it. Thanks SteveBBB!

I came in not expecting much but I have to be honest with you, I'm pretty impressed!

I had a 2014 4.3l/3.42 Silverado last year, 2015 5.3l/3.42 Sierra this year.

Was passing some cars on the highway today coming back from bass fishing and I can tell you the difference is not that great. The new 4.3l gets it done.

The 2013 and older 4.3's were basically old dinosaur gen II motors.

Yes its tuned and posting todays times at the track in the race section. :)

True but the new 4.3l is even a better engine than the 2013 4.8l V8

2013 4.8l: 302hp @ 5600RPMs, 305ft lbs at 4600RPM

2014 4.3l: 285hp @ 5300RPMs, 305ft lbs at 3900RPMs (E10)

297hp @ 5300RPMs, 330ft lb at 3900RPMs (E85)

The E85 numbers rival the 2013 5.3ls 315hp @ 5200RPMs, 335ft bs at 4000RPMs. (and are only 10% off on E10)

Ford and RAM are using their mini van engines. F150s 3.7NA engine has 278ft lbs at 4000RPMs while the Chevy 4.3l has 230ft lbs at 1200RPM.

GM has created something VERY good here- a V6 made for trucks that would be powerful enough for most people who drive trucks.

The 3.42 gears on a 4.3l can actually have higher rated tow capacity than a 5.3l with the 3.08 standard gears- that is saying something.

good god those things are slow!

they wouldn't be very popular here at 6500 feet

Compared to what?

There isnt another engine out there close to the new 4.3. It crushes every other base engine out there.

Not sure what your smoking, but that 0-100 blast was not bad at all.

Not everyone feels the need to live where the air is piss-poor, thin.

Exactly. No other firm made a V6 specifically for trucks, they all recycled car engines.

That tuned V6 truck with aftermarket exhaust runs about as quick as a new minivan. Don't get me wrong, the V6 trucks don't run bad. But in todays world, they are still relatively slow when compared with other new vehicles, not just other V6 trucks.
