GMC underhood logo

So I had a take off grill and have the GMC plastic nameplate. I'm thinking of shaving the back side flush and then somehow attaching it to the inside of the hood.

Any suggestions on how to attach it? I'm thinking silicone type adhesive...

Get some emblem tape from 3M. It's as good as anything, but I doubt it will stick to insulation.

It should stick as long as it's clean, but I wonder about how emblem tape (even 3M) would handle the extra heat.

My idea would be to use the emblem as kind of a template (or use the emblem to make a template) and cut out an area in the insulation for the emblem to "french" into. Then maybe cutout the area inside the G. I think that would look cleaner, more factory and would give the 3M tape a better surface to stick to. I bought some 3M emblem tape from Autozone and they had a couple different widths and 2 different lengths.

Thanks, I'm going to try the mounting tape from Auto Zone, will report back here...
