Intergrated Trailer Brake Controller for 2014 GMC 1500 Denali

I have a 2014 GMC 1500 Denali that I have been researching ideas for trailer brake controllers. I took these two photos to show the front and backsides of the area where a factory controller would have been installed above the 4x4 and light switches. As you can see, there is a wiring harness attached to the upper section coin holder spot on the backside of this assembly. Does anyone know if this is the wiring harness attachement is by chance for the factor trailer brake controller system...? It seems silly to have it connected to a non-functional plastic tray at this point. I would love to find a way to install a factory system here if at all possible....

This is a good question, I wonder if you could just connector the switch assembly to that wiring and it would work.

Did more looking for you and apparently it isn't possible. You will have to add an aftermarket controller.

A no go. A truck that has it vs one that does not...the chassis wiring harness is different, obviously the switch isn't there, there is no brake control module, and the chassis control module is different between a JL1 and non JL1 truck.
