Hp gains after cat back

Hi people

So was thinking about a cat back install on my 15 sierra 1500 regular cab. And was thinking about borla atak. What do you think power is what matters. So please tell me hp gains.

Can someone put the part number for the dual rear exit ataks pls cant seem to find them. Thanks

Power gains from an exhaust will be minimal and not worth the price of the exhaust, mainly people swap for better sound. If you are wanting more power then you will need to get a tuner.

If you can burn it, there is a cheap 15 hp just my using E85.

Factory exhaust is pretty free flowing these days, they use mandrel bent pipes so there is not much flow loss anymore. The muffler is the most restrictive piece since it is an internal cross flow design. I would think at max maybe 5rwhp with a catback system or a muffler replacement with a straight thru design.

 

I removed the resonator, flapper valve and stock muffler on mine and swapped in a Magnaflow muffler. Sounds good and got rid of some weight also.

Im going to say you probably get zero gain out of a catback. Now when you start building power and need the extra diameter and better flow to scavenge the exhaust then you'll see a gain over stock but if you're talking stock with a catback i doubt you could tell on a dyno.

Cat backs are "ear candy". Don't expect much in the way of gains beyond a nice sound.

Mostly sound as previously mentioned, but I did notice that mine seems to accellerate smoother and it will coast freely now. With the factory exhaust it felt like I was dragging an anchor when just coasting.

A local shop did a quality job installing Magnaflow with dual to the rear on a 2012 reg cab I had. Felt like it helped the little 4.8 breath and great sound, wished kept the pictures or may have some posted . If wasn't for recent med.bills would have him install Flowmaster 44 on my 2014

Mine too (Corsa) and doesn't shift as much going up hills.

I didnt notice anything on the butt dyno after adding my Corsa.
