Need advice buying Sierra CC AT

Been talking to a dealership about an black CC AT SLT. MSRP is a little over 51k has everything (I think) other than the sun roof. Has trailer brake, Nav, 3.42 and so on. Dealer printed invoice and gave it to me and it was 48,991. I got rebates of 4k which some of that is credit union member. 44k is what I was told was the OTD price. He says he can't go lower due to supplier pricing. I'm confused that they aren't really coming anything off the price from the dealership end. I've posted the invoice. Just needing to know if I'm ok on this deal or need to hold off. He says they've hit their numbers and most likely won't get to the next level. Their a volume dealer. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

there should be no guessing what the msrp is, should be a sticker. I'm not sure about the price but go look on laura gmc website and check their prices for the same truck. I wouldn't pay over what their pricing is (or atleast not much). Also the rebates should be separate? Meaning you get their best price and then minus the rebates

From the numbers you listed it looks like you are getting the truck for 10k+ off msrp, seems like a good deal to me. But I only know the price of my denali, which was almost 60k and got it for almost 10k off msrp and under 55k out the door.

Just looked at the invoice it say 48xxxxx minus 4000 which is 4458 but I'm not seeing tax so is that out the door? Doesn't look like it is

"Out the door" price is the check you write when you leave the dealership which includes tax, title, and fees. Looks like that $44,058 is just truck price.

Very normal, average deal. Nothing special at all in pricing. It's basic supplier (which they will give to anyone) minus rebates. I would look for deals in stuff like doc fees, oil changes, etc., if they won't go any lower.

Don't even discuss rebates since they don't affect dealer pricing. Get the dealer to rock bottom and then discuss rebates. They will make you think they are giving you such a great deal by factoring your rebates in to purchase price.

Excise tax is 3.25% of the vehicle purchase price and then 91.00 for the tag. In Oklahoma that's done at the tag agency after you buy the vehicle. As far as dealing on the truck, I simply went in, looked at the truck walked in the office and this is what he wrote down and said (as any salesman would), he doesn't do the back and forth thing. Caught me off guard cause I'm usually battling it out with them for an hour or so.

I looked at Laura first and if I can get this truck at 41-42k it will be close to the same.

Just purchased same truck minus AT package and paid 41,500 OTD. Had I done more homework think I could have done a little better.

Try to get Supplier pricing; all the regular incentives should stack upon that. It's pretty easy to get, just join one of their accepted credit unions (your dealer will know; 50 bucks will save you around $3000)

He asked if I was a credit union member and I said yes. I'm a member of two of them. When I build a truck on GM's site with using my supplier code it comes about to close to what he is quoting me. I get GMS through my work. Didn't seem like the Credit Union discount was 3k though.

Do you have to pay sales tax in Oklahoma on a vehicle purchase?. I'm assuming no because the OTD price of $44k reflects the invoice price with the rebates applied.

Just excise tax. 3.5% of the purchase price plus 91 for the tag. That's done at the tag agency after I receive the title in the mail.

I would say that's a pretty good price, but check around with other dealers to compare

GM-S is in the $2000-3000 range of a discount, GM-employee was about $4500 off of my truck, plus I got an owner loyalty rebate of $1k and another $4k rebate. All in all it was pretty close to $10k off of the sticker once I was done, plus the dock fee is locked in at $75 on GM-employee deals versus the scam the dealers pull on regular customers now.

Appreciate everyone's input. I think if they can't get between 41-42k I'll hold off. The deal I'm getting quoted can be had from any local dealer in the area. When I build the exact same truck with the GMS price comes out to the same. About 500.00 more but then figure my credit union rebate it comes to the same. So there isn't an incentive to buy from one dealer to the next. I know their in "the money" for this quarter so and they will get paid from GM if they sell me the truck. All I'm asking is they pass a little of that on to me. Is that too much to ask?...... :-)

I emailed him earlier and told him where I stood. Yesterday the GM emailed me to thank me for coming in. I simply replied, told him the dealership was great, loved the no pressure environment, the salesman had great customer service and if we couldn't agree on price I'd recommend the dealership to anyone who was in the market.

The salesman emailed a few min ago and asked me to come in tomorrow because it's against the law to talk price on Sunday's and now the GM and GMS is involved due to emails.

ok to help you out, the line entry on the sheet that says "h/b $1510.95" that is the dealer hold back. That money directly goes into the dealers pocket outside of what the dealer makes on the sale from the point of what they paid for the truck from GM to what you buy it from them. As said, rebates don't matter as that money is from GM. Also the dealer always has some "dealer cash" lying around that GM gives them for use as they see fit. It can be added to deals if the dealer chooses to help make the deal work.

I wish my buddy still worked for the dealership in Chandler, he would have taken care of you. He retired earlier this year to take care of his mom.

I purchased my 15 Sierra 1500 CC SB All Terain in December.

MSRP: $51,900

To get me into the door, dealership said they would do 20% Off MSRP. =$41,520

That got me there.

Final Selling Price: $40,000

Financing rate: 1.89% For 72 months.

There was no zero percent for 60 months at the time.

There are two kinds of dealerships....

Those who try to sell higher price and make more profit

And those that sell as low as possible and try to move more inventory. My dealership moved inventory

    • Black bumper and the later years Z-71 style color matched grille.
    • You can install tailpipes that direct the exhaust sideways vs the OEM one that goes straight back. There are several on the market, do you own research. HOWEVER, you need to make sure the Venturi vents are still intact, otherwise it will throw a engine code. There is a sensor somewhere that detects back pressure on the exhaust. And if it doesn't collect the correct metrics, it will throw the truck into limp mode.
    • "Teardown" is complete. Head surfaces are clean and ready, new intake is prepped and ready. Coolant drained and water pump is removed, radiator is removed, new hoses and pump are ready.   The replacement intake is also from a '95 (with I think 260k, the odometer said). Noticeably less pitting where it covers the rear coolant passages. I'm not sure if that's a tribute to more frequent use, more frequent coolant changes/upkeep, or if the intake was machined at some point. But it appears I found a good one.   My coolant hoses were original, and the lower hose still retained the factory spring inside. It's not really rusty, but it's got deposits all over it. Unsure if I should re-install it (will thoroughly clean it first). Someone said hose technology has gotten better since 1995 (has it?) and I don't need the spring. I think modern EPDM is what made those hoses last from 1995-2026, so it's a question of how much suction can the water pump really pull, and will it collapse the hose without a spring?   I'm stopped and waiting for parts, however.   When I first brought the truck home, the fan was intermittently hitting the radiator shroud. I could see someone had monkeyed with the shroud (put a bunch of cardboard as a spacer between the upper/lower shroud halves. Someone said the motor mounts have likely failed and the engine has sagged. I wasn't sure I believed that. The engine is really solid in its mounts: To remove the old intake I *just* nearly permanently welded to the heads with freshly cured RTV and gasket snot two weeks ago, I literally had to use the arms on my lift and a chain with a bolt attached to the intake to pull it loose. It almost picked the front of the truck off the ground before ....scuuuuuuuuuuup.... I could actually hear the gaskets tearing and it broke loose and the whole truck settled back down. Motor barely moved.   SO, those parts I'm waiting on... The lower radiator mounts/bushings had completely failed. The radiator needs to be insulated from the rad support, and the bushings help the rad stand at the correct height. The plastic "baffle" was also destroyed at some point. Someone had attached the shroud to it incorrectly, overlapping a joint that should have been underlapped, creating another suspect issue potentially causing things to hit the fan. Broken tabs, side is busted off, and it's perma-formed/bent where it was jimmied incorrectly.   The baffle? Unobtainum. Long since discontinued from GM, of course. Aftermarket/capa/chinese? Also unobtanium. In GM's infinite wisdom, it appears there are at least two different variations whether the Blazer is 2 or 4 door, and I can't yet tell if they shared the same part with the S-pickups. Plan B, if I can't find a viable used one, will be to create a bracket to re-assemble the critical joint I need to seal a gap with the shroud. But that will bug me, it won't be...perfect.   The water pump bolts appear to have been installed with...plumber's putty. I guess, sure, if it works...? I've found a few "backyard fixes" like that. Someone's been here before....   If I can't find someone to jam bamboo under my fingernails to fill my free time this week I think I'll install the driver's power window motor and replace the rear door speaker that's inop. I've got a genuine GM "9.5" ohm working replacement. Why GM used a non-standard resistance....nevermind. Of course they did, you can get more sound from a cheap factory amp that way.   And the saga goes on...
    • // Thank you, also for your  response. More information is always good. This 2013 GMC is most likely my 'forever truck"-I'm 77 and retired...and truck only has 42K on it-very clean-so I try to keep it that way.  Tks again for your  response- glenn
    • I started my install this weekend. Everything was pretty straight forward but I ran into one issue with running power through the firewall. The nipple grommet on my High Country already has a small harness running through it - has anyone else ran into this issue? And on the engine bay side, does the wire basically just penetrate the factory wiring boot? I did this on my '22 Trail Boss and it seems much easier but thats been a few years. My other thought would be possibly drilling a new hole adding a rubber grommet just to the lower left of the factory hole. Thoughts?   Has anyone used a T-harness off the Bose amp and obtained power from there? It seems a little odd that such a small amp needs 3 power leads
