read in the paper yesterday GM is trying a new incentives program form 4/15-7/15 were you can drive any new vehicle over night, excluding caddy and vettes.  You can put 100 miles or less on it and you are not alowed to take it out of state.  GM must really trying to sell cars the last couple months of the model year.  The only bad thing is the dealer going to push pretty hard for you to buy the vehicle you just ran the #### out of the last 100 miles. :flag:

The dealer gave me that option with a Tahoe I was looking at.  Wanted me to take it home for a day or two, show it to the wife, see how it fit in the garage.... etc.  I declined simply because I knew I would really hate taking it back.

That's exactly the way they want you to feel...they want your friends to see it and say "oh, I love your new car,"  then you fall in love with it.  Good plan...I think it will make people who are thinking about buying a car actually buy it.  I know I will take advantage of this idea...although I won't ever buy anything!

A nice sales practice for the serious buyer.  Get a little more time behind the wheel and give it a good look over on your own turf.

I would imagine they were with the caddy and the vetts.......

However........  Maybe if you flashed a few hundreds you might get the chance to drive it

LAST year when I was Caddy CTS shopping they

would only take a demo one overnite because so

many folks wanted them.  They let me keep a 02

Deville demo for a WEEK so the old ball and chain

could get to like it !   She did... we bought one !

They did the same on my 01 Chev. PU cuz i was

going from a 97 to 01 to try it out........geo

If the dealer knows your serious and not a joyrider

they will bend over backward to get ya to buy !

When I was shopping for the vette, the salesman suggested we try the car out for a day.  I declined because I knew that I wouldn't be able to turn in the keys.  I came back two days later and talked him down another three bills and bought the car.  Somehow they know when you're serious. :flag:   Don

This is kinda funny. Local dealers back in Maine often let serious potential buyers take new cars and trucks home for the weekend to make sure that is the vehical they wanted to buy.
