I just bought the K&N 63-3085 for my V6 2015 1500 Silverado. Does any one have first hand experience with this. It is being delivered to me tomorrow but I can return it for free through Amazon Prime.

If there is a better one out there for less or equal value, please let me know

Well might be different on one of the itty bitty engines but on the 2016 Crew Cab Short Bed 6000lb beast with 6.2 L86 Gas Engine 420HP 8 spd 3.23 it actually added a little bit of mpg at least for me it did others may have different results.

Drill holes in the stock air box, buy little rubber plugs to plug the holes when you don't want the noise. Did that on my 01 GMC, was installing a K&N anyway so I did that first.

I can't imagine them being much louder than stock anyway. Mine makes a loud wooshing/suction noise on acceleration, especially low RPM moderate load acceleration on backroads. I think with a good aftermarket intake and exhaust, it would sound a lot tougher than a nearly silent exhaust truck making loud vacuum noises from the front of the truck.
