Loudest air intake for silverado 2014

i got the plastic k&n for my 5.3... that thing is loud when the engine is under load... maybe too mutch for me but i have heard that putting and exhaust reduce the intake noice so i might go that way

Yeah it definite made a change for V6 too. So much that I took it out because the gas mileage dropped by 2 mpgs. Wasn't worth trying to make a V6 sound so loud.

The Volant CAI is loud, but I like it, and it improved performance.

Most stock air boxes and intake tubes are very quiet, with additional plastic corrugated tubing and various add on plastic that really help silence and reduce the sound of the intake.  Any aftermarket intake is going to be louder than stock, some more louder than others depending on design.

 

I do agree that making a decision on what intake to select based on the amount of sound increase is a bit of an odd "decision making factor" for a aftermarket CAI.
