2015 GMC Sierra running board, door handle, and mirror cap question

I have a few questions I hope someone can help me with ?

2015 GMC Sierra all terrain.

 

1. What are the running boards made of: steel or aluminum. I want to get my running boards powdered coated but we all know how aluminum turns out.

 

2. Where is the best place to buy color matching door handles and mirror cap. The chrome ones look like crap. There is a dude on eBay that is over priced. I'm sure he doesn't have the market cornered. If anyone wants my chrome ones I'll gladly sell them cheap. ?.

i cant speak to your first question - but the 2nd question is that yes oem color matched door handles and mirror caps are very expensive - about $250 for handles and $75-100 for mirror caps both used take offs... as far as i know GM doesn't sell just the color matched stuff yet.. (i could be wrong though)

 

i bought color matched door handle covers on ebay for $30 and they are great - easy to install, looks good and are cheap -i also bought oem mirror caps used on ebay.

I'm fairly certain GM will sell you color matched handles and mirror caps through your dealer parts department, but be prepared to pay a pretty penny.

 

Your best bet is to find someone on here who wants to trade their color matched handles/mirror caps for your chrome ones.

I thought the running boards were aluminum, but could be wrong. I took mine off and they were very light. The brackets are heavy steel.

Go to their website, register, and then contact them. I actual just emailed them using the email address from the site. They will give you further instructions, can't remember exactly what it was, but once verified they mark your account. It's 10% off on almost everything, on top of them having some of the lowest prices I have found looking for genuine GM Parts.

I was looking for Deep a Ruby Metallic mirror and door handle covers and found them in the For Sale section of this forum. He is also a seller on eBay, but I saved $$ by going direct. Also I made an order. Great folks. I made an error and forgot those caps for the handle. My fault. The mirror caps that were suggested were wrong and are going back. 22976568 and 69. I think the correct ones are 22919757 and 58. Anyone that has the same truck and did this can you confirm.

 

One last thought. Are most paint to matching the mirror caps or going black. Thanks in advance.
