Product: Sony Xplod 6 1/2s for front doors

Price: $76.25 w/ tax

Rating: 10

Just replaced the front speakers last night with these new Sonys. These suckers really rock! I had no idea you could get that kind of sound w/out spending an arm and a leg. I ain't into kazillion dollar sound systems, so I left the factory setup alone. That is until I blew out the driver side speaker. :seeya: It sounded like crap, even with the passenger side speaker carrying the load. So I finally broke down and replaced them, and man, it was worth it. I'm picking up details in songs that I missed from day one with the factory setup. Would recommend them every day of the week and twice on Sunday. Would also recommend having a buddy help, made the job a thousand times easier. Just my .02.

Glad you like them.  My opinion of them...they suck.  I have a pair and would have given them to you if you asked.  They didnt produce the lows that I was looking for and the factory speakers would.  Granted the sonys do have more detail in the middle to high range.  Just not for me I guess

No need to pick on the mans choice, if he's happy, thats all that counts.

Most people don't care to spend $1000, just on door speakers (MB Quart)....Or even $300. (Fosgate, Kicker, and most others).

Almost any speakers are going to give you a night and day difference when compared to the factory ones....Yes, even the "high-end" crap...Bose.

black&grayHD, congrats on your newfound musical details. :thumb:

I put in the exact same speakers and had the same result.  They are night and day vs. the stock speakers.  I'm no audiophile, but I thought the lows were better then the stockers, and the mids and highs can't even compare.

Perhaps the Xplods would fail when compared to some other higher-end stuff, but for 60 bucks at Walmart, you can't go wrong.
