15' Yukon Denali Extended Warranty

Thoughts on the 5yr/100k mile warranty? I plan on keeping this vehicle long term -- this is my first GM vehicle, is it a good investment to purchase?

 

The dealership I bought the car through (Hendrick) does not sale the factory extended warranty -- they sell their own... Is this typical?

I just bought a Denali Saturday...made out pretty well at about 8% off sticker. Anyway 15 is the last year of the 100k powertrain. They offered a fidelity 6/100k bumper to bumper warranty (really a 3/64k if u think about it) which was 3600 or so. So not worth it since they have no powertrain liability. Lots of guys buy them for Porsche car which are completely out of warranty but low miles 30k or so...about the same price for lots more coverage of the engine tanks.

 

You can shop around at any dealer (even over the phone and other makes) and find the best deal if you must add it later. I got the road hazard coverage for 400 just to see how it works...22's ain't cheap!!
