Dynomax VT catback

Just installed this system on my truck and it sounds great but its hitting a spot on the frame and making an annoying noise. anyone else have this issue or know of a possible solution?

I has one on for a few days but didn't care for the sound (or lack of) but didn't have anything touching the frame. Did you put the hanger rods in the correct place on the rubber mounts?

yes i have rods in the correct spot so im confused at why its hitting. thanks for the input though.

Probly built a little wrong..idk contact them and tell them your issues.. they might send you another kit.. something to think about. Don't settle imo

The folks at Tennaco are great to work with. I had a problem with the first muffler they sent me in the kit, you could hear something rattling inside. I think it was a piece of slag from the weld so I never put it on. Called them and they had a new muffler out in a few days and it did not rattle. I did not like the sound of the system mainly in V4 mode with light throttle so I called them and they took it back. About 2 months later I finally got my money back plus and extra $50 to cover labor costs. I would check the mounts one more time. I accidentally put one of the mounts in the wrong hole when putting the system on and which resulted in the tip hitting the quarter panel.

I have their ultraflo catback and it fit perfect except for the tip.

I had to have it welded on.

are you sure its hitting the frame? (pic?) it could be the valve hitting the inner wall. If so i have a fix.

I had the same problem with the VT system. I didn't think about it being slightly too large so I kept tightening it till I broke the clamp and it still was too loose! Another reason I sent the system back.

yeah just as I figured there pipe bend is a little off. Contact them for another kit

Bringing this back up, seems like a good quality cheap cat back. How is it holding up for those of you that have it? Im considering buying it and if I dont liike the tone just changing the muffler. Seems good quality stainless and bends. Tip isnt bad either.

 

Im pricing out the individual pieces without the muffler from dynomax and it gets close to the full catback price. They have a rebate for 75 bucks right now too.

I've have the ultraflo and its doing great.

I really recommend them, paying a grand for a catback is crazy. Headers yes they really add power but a catback is mainly a noise maker
