ABS Light

I have a 2006 GMC 2500HD, we replaced both the left and right front wheels sensors last night and all codes went away. We started the truck up and ABS light lit up on the dash. We plugged the scan tool back in and it says no codes are found, everything passes. We did a clear on the scan tool, you can hear it cycle the brake module, the light goes out again. If you turn the truck off and re-start, light comes back on but no codes show up.

 

Totally Lost, has anyone seen this before?

My parking brake/abs light would occasionally stay on, and it seems better now that I cleaned the grounds under the drivers door [under the cab]. But mine was intermittent, I could turn the truck off, then on again, and it would usually go away.

 

Yours seems more regular.

I can't comment what caused this particular issue now or how to make it disappear, but for future reference (you may have done this so this is for whoever may read) always disconnect the battery before disconnecting sensors or critical wiring. It will cause codes to show up even if nothing is wrong, and clearing those with a standard OBD reader might still leave them as "stored" in the central.
