2015 Wiper Blade Issue

This seems like a silly thing to be posting but it's annoying the crap out of me. My wipers are anything but smooth even when there is a butt load of water/rain. Every once in awhile they are perfectly smooth, but mostly they basically "bump" themselves across the windshield. I first thought it was the rainx I put on he windshield, but I just cleaned them with windex to remove the rainx and they are still doing it. Anyone have an issue with rainx gumming up their wiper blades? I've only got 700 miles on my truck and this is literally the second time it rained so the blades should be fine.

This might seem silly but they are going across the windshield rough enough that I am worried about the wiper arm motors getting messed up as it is so un-smooth.

Just wondering these blades generally suck and other people have had he same issue. I don't want to replace the blades being brand new but I'm about to.

I just tried taking them off and washing them in dish soap and it seemed to help a little bit - but still horrible chatter. They actually work okay at full speed but that's no good for most of the time. Anything lower than that they chatter real bad.

If I replace, any suggestions?

I've tried rain-x in the past and I don't recommend it.

When the windshield was exposed to the sun for a few days it looked like "flaky skin" (for the lack of words).

The "protection" lasted only from lunch 'til noon so to speak.

As far as I know the wiper blades have to be in an certain angle to the windshield. Maybe let your dealer check it at the next service appointment.

My truck is almost 2 years old and the wipers are still going strong since day one.

It is not the wiper but the windshield. Get it good and clean and apply a sealant to coat it. Rainx isn't a bad product just can be difficult. Look into Rain by Nanoskin....was very impressed by it.

Check your build date compared to when you bought it, sounds like your blades are cooked from sitting on the lot without use. Grin and bear it while you buy a new set, I've had it happen before.

Okay I guess I'm not alone. Not a huge deal, just thought it was worth looking into.

We're entering rainy season here so I doubt I'll wait till my service appointment and won't bring it in for something like this - I just don't have the time. I might just replace.

It didn't sit on the lot long - it only had 8 miles on it when I bought it. I think I'm the only one who test drove it and then I scooped it up.

I'll check out that rain stuff. I don't really like bothering with rainx either - I just happened to have their +cleaner version when I bought my truck and used it. It helped with the bugs on my jeep windshield some, I don't worry about the water so much. Maybe I'll try that Rain product at some point - thanks for the recommendation.

Go to a 21" Bosch OE and it will stop.

Hey Jeff - do you have the model # for the rights ones for a 2015? Or a link to Amazon for the blades?

Had the same problem I bought a can of silicone and sprayed it on a rag then wiped the windshield wipers down with it and they were perfectly smooth.

Nice fireaxxe. I am driving around in the rain a bunch today and after washing the blades thoroughly in dish soap they do seem a lot better. I think there might have been some kind of wax or something on them from the factory. Now that that seems to be off, they are working much better.

For what it's worth my 2014 is the first GM truck in which I've had to replace the wiper blades right away. Rain-X helped, but the blades were not very good from the factory. My other trucks still had the factory blades on them when I traded.

When mine aren't chattering they wipe well, leaving no streaks. They seem to be very temperamental though.

Previously, I read recommendation for Bosch Icon 22OE wiper blades, but some had better results with Bosch 21OE. I used Rain-X Expert Fit B-22-2 and mine were much better than stock. No more chatter...Rain-X Latitude DO NOT fit since they do not have the proper adapter...

It is important to get the "OE" version to get the proper adapter!
