Radio question

I was in my brother in laws dodge ram the other day and noticed his radio had siriusxm and we were listening to siriusxm turbo. I get into my '14 sierra and try to get that station just to realize gm radios are only xm enabled. How is that possible that sirius and xm have merged years ago and gm hasn't figured this out?

You can upgrade you subscription to get those channels. I too find it odd that we get different channels than the 'Sirius' cars.

I mean the brands that had Sirius prior to the merger get different lineups than xm post merger.

I just switched from a 13 ram with sirus to a chevy with the xm the rams radio was able to get 700 stations the gm radio gets 250 .I called sirus\xm to find out why I wasn't getting rock bar they told me that the gm radio couldn't get the higher stations. Kinda sucks oh well

Thanks. Good info.

I only listen to sat radio occasionally, and then only to a handful of stations, and although hunting for one, I've never found a radio that did not have them. That said, on one of the 'non built-in' sat radios I occasionally use, the some station numbers did change after the merger.
