bumper plug

I saw a plug for the bumper on a newer sierra that had a 7 prong and a 4 right below it for trailer lights. could I get that for my 2012 GMC sierra? not sure what the OEM number is.

If the one you are referring to is on a new '14 or '15, yes you can from what I recall.... BUT, you will need to enlarge the hole for the plug. I think it was a member here that has done this mod. Believe it was plug and play after that. Look in the mod section. If I find the thread I will post it.

etrailer.com also carries an adaptor that simply replaces the 7 pin plug and give you both the 7 pin and 4 pin.

That's the new 14-15 design plug. It can be added to the 07-13 GMT-900 but you need to make the hole in the bumper large enough for it to fit.

All you need to do is look up the part number and order it, pretty simple install.

 

The POLLAK aftermarket plug is identical to the new OEM GM plug and costs around $30.00. It's part number HOPKINS 40975. I ordered one of these plugs for my 2008 but never got around to installing it.

The actual OEM GM branded plug is probably more expensive just because it says "GM" on the plug.
