So in 2008 I bought a Sierra Denali that was AWD and simply loved it in upstate ny and now have a Silverado that is 4 wheel drive. I am currently looking at new trucks to me and I'm going back in forth between the Denali AWD in the old style 2013 model or a 2014 Denali Model that is 4WD. Any experiences or suggestions. I know the 2013 is the older body style but still love the looks of it, and are a hell of a lot cheaper. Thanks for your help in advance.

Brand new if you can...even if you can't get a Denali and have to get an SLT. The new trucks are light years ahead of the old style in regards to tech.

I don't know if it's the same for these trucks, but when we were shopping for an Acadia for my wife last year, we started our search committed to buying a recent model year used car. But the used cars were selling for so much, it made no sense not to spend the little bit extra for a brand new car. We got the full warranty this way, and we didn't have to worry about someone else's history. Yeah, it's still more money, and if you can't afford it then it is what it is, but I found the difference not to be worth the hassle of buying used.

Also, the interest rates on used are often higher on a used car, so if monthly payments matter, the difference becomes even less.

I ran into the same problem when shopping for a new truck last year. I could get a new one for just a few thousand more than a 2-3 year old used truck. I have never owned a new vehicle in my life and had no plans on ever buying new but I did. I got a $42K stickered truck for $33K while every used truck I looked at I could not do better than $29.5K. I do think these trucks are way overpriced so I guess that is why it is not much trouble to get 25% off of them.

Thanks for all the feedback. The 5.3 is not going to cut it. I've had a 6.2 and now a 5.3 and miss the power and I can make some mods and make the 6.2 a beast. Anyone want to buy a 2014 Harley Davidson Nightrod Special?

Be sure to check GMs site for the latest incentives and if your are a veteran, apply for military discount code..good for another big chunk off (6+% for me). USAA member is another $750 off. And be sure to make sure all the discounts are on the paperwork!

Your 5.3L and the new 5.3L are a little different. You might want to consider driving a couple new 5.3L trucks before you make up your mind.

Not a veteran, I am a school teacher. 5.3-355hp or 6.2-424hp....Size matters

2013 5.3L 315HP VS 2014 5.3L 355HP... Tech matters. Besides you could just buy an LT or SLT and slap a TVS on it and be a good bit ahead of a 6.2L

What is a TVS? I have been searching online and found some leftovers with 5.3. Just need to think do I want a new vehicle more with me breaking it in or 6.2? Just loved my old 6.2. Suppose could put headers, cam, and tune on 5.3...

TVS is Twin Vortecies Series. Made my Eaton. It is a style of rotor in their TVS1900 and TVS2300 superchargers.
