Increase USB Current Output?

Is there a relatively easy way to increase the charging output of the built in USB ports? I measured the output at 1 amp, but my separate charger outputs at 1.7 amps charging the same phone. The easy answer is to use the separate charger, but if I want to use the phone for media (or Android Auto eventually), I want the phone to be connected to the truck.

Relatively easy probably not. The USB are coming from the head unit which gives the ability to data link.

You'd have to check the pin out config on a USB to figure out which is the 5v and swap that with the lead coming from your 2 amp charger.

Seems intricate and prone to fail so personally I wouldn't attempt but maybe braver smarter persons can contribute?
