Dash Problems!

Mine was raised on the drivers side when I test drove the truck. I made sure they knew about it. They ordered a new piece had it installed under warranty about two weeks ago...........now it has started to lift again, but on both sides. Great isn't it!!

I think this is just something we have to live with. This part of the truck is subjected to extreme temperature changes. And its just plastic. It's gonna warp in these conditions. So it can be replaced, but over time it will just happen again. As seen with some posters who had it replaced.

I know its not the answer anyone wants to hear, but if it bothers you enough, get a dash mat and it will cover the gap.

Meh, a part of me unfortunately thinks this way. The choice they made on the type of plastic can make a difference and how the piece is secured on the dash which could relieve some of the stresses from it expanding and contracting. But then again, I'm a young guy that spent almost $50k on a new truck. The last thing I want to see is a poor design/material choice used on a dash component that now looks me in the eye and reminds me every time I drive the truck what I make payments every month for. If all of us (the consumer) had the same mentality as you, how would suppliers strive for a better product to meet customer's satisfaction? Our criticism in the end drives their product quality.

I don't know of any friends/family having issues with their dashes on their brand new cars/trucks. The dashes which also consist of plastic components that endure the same brutal changes in temperatures and direct sunlight. GM should be held responsible, not me. Why would I buy a dash cover to cover up their flaw?

lol, maybe if we get everyone on here aware of the issue and take it in, maybe GM will finally find a solution to the issue. My truck goes in tomorrow to leh shop, interested to hear how they will handle it.

I noticed this driving home form the dealer with 10 miles on mine. I just figured there was a snap someone forgot to put in. Interesting to see this is an issue... I forgot to mention it during my recent warranty trip. I wont make a special trip for it though.

I have it too. Guess I'll see what the dealer has to say when I go in for my next oil change next week. How annoying. Glad I am not the only one.

My windshield has the full ceramic 50% tint that reduces heat by 90% and I still have it. I don't think it has anything to do with the interior heat or sunlight

Welp, the wait begins. Forced them to give me a loaner vehicle. I almost got the service tech in trouble when I walked up to the front of the store and talked to the sales manager and said "yeah, the service tech back there said you guys would give me the corvette for a loaner"... he definitely did not find it funny. Then he asked if I bought the truck from them. I said nope, but you guys are GM right? I can have my truck serviced at any GM service center regardless where I bought it from? .. he tried to find an excuse but finally gave in and gave me the keys.

As we were finishing up I asked how the owner of the dealership was. Then the owner's son... totally caught him off guard. I was good friends with the owners son in grade school. I love messing with dealers!
