Dash Problems!

It happens haha. Pretty disappointing they overlook stuff like this when it's one of the first things you see every time you get in your truck. Considering the temperature extremes and UV light that part of the dash is exposed to; you'd think they'd make sure the plastic they select can handle it without warping or rattling.

I am at 10k Miles on my crew cab taco built truck, I have the same thing on mine. I am not overly concerned but it did start when temps got well below 0.

I am taking mine to the dealer on Friday...it's just starting but feel like I should take it now rather than wait until a year later.

Dashboard lifting

Windshield issue

It is just a narrow filler strip that snaps in between the main dash and the windshield. Not a hard job to replace but the part is molded too thin without extra ribs in it to keep it from bowing up. It is held in with clips in the sash as in the 900's.

My 2015 double cab has yet to show any issue with the dash (fingers crossed) and I'm nearing 15,000 miles

However the 2015 crew cab wt we have at work has this issue, and it only has a couple thousand miles on it

This was one of the first things I noticed when I went to test drive mine, only had 18 miles on it but had been on the lot since October. I'm due to have the dealer fix some other issues and was going to have them address this as well. Now I fear if they replace it that the new one may wind up being worse.

I just read through the thread and proceeded out to the truck with a flashlight haha! I've got a 2015 Sierra crew with almost 21k on it with no problems on the dash. [emoji120][emoji120]

The dealer has ordered a new panel and new dash extension both parts will be replaced they said it's the first truck they see with this problem and that it should not have happened. GM will cover the cost.

GM has no update or fix for this so you have a truck that already has the lofted piece, will have it, or already replaced it with another one that will lift.

Would be great if GM had a updated part.

Some might think it is no big deal but the last gen truck was known for the entire dash cracking out and GM never did anything, good luck trying to sell a truck with the entire dash cracked out of it.

Just had this piece replaced, same problem.

I am going to fix it myself, maybe add some metal plate to glue to it

I have started to notice this same thing with my 2014 Sierra. The truck is garage kept and I live it the south so I can't say it is from the cold.

Mine had it from day 1. I noticed it at 14 miles. Will have them address it along with a few other things this week.

I say you take it in have it replaced even if others on this site say the new part will do it as well. This is my plan, have it replaced now, if it happens again in the next 6 months I will have it replaced again and again...we all need to do the same so that we have some sort of paper trail ignoring the problem will not create a solution. Once GM receives countless invoices for the same thing our voices will definitely be heard. I am considering writing a letter to the corporate office just to get the ball rolling...they do not want this angry woman on their bad side. :)
