2015 Sierra SLT II HUD Install?

Surprisingly little info out there on this topic for the K2's, seems like a great mod. Has anyone done or know what would be involved in an aftermarket HUD install for our trucks? I've seen products like Navdy and some of the cheap aftermarket stuff on Ebay, seems low quality and too visible. Would love to either drop a factory denali unit in (don't mind cutting the dash), or retrofit an old unit from a Caddy or Pontiac if that's even possible. Anyone have some wisdom to offer here?

Unless money is no concern for you it's going to be impossible. If you wanted to drop that kind of money go buy a Yukon Denali with it. They require a special windshield with some kind of coating on it so there might not even be that option for our trucks.

Not to mention the nightmare of trying to wire it all in to the bcm system...

To do it right you need a "wedge" windshield.

I bought a cheapo ebay unit and laying on the dash I can see the speedo reading in all but the most direct sunlight.

I wanted the speedo readout due to the terrible cruise control regulation on my 2011.

HUD is a great thing if you have it. My wife's ATS has the nice color HUD. She has mentioned several times how much she likes it and she is not a car girl. Likes the car because "it is cute". I also wish GM would put it in our trucks. GM puts it in other vehicles and has for some time. Seems like this would be a high profit option that could easily be adapted to our trucks. Maybe someday it will be an option. Good luck and keep us posted if you figure out how to add it.

Copy all. Money is an object, I'll just wait for GM to grace our $50k trucks with the latest options. May check out the Navdy route, interface looks pretty solid and better than nothing.

I get red flashing lights projected on the windshield when my anti collision goes off. Seems like the HUD display would be projected from the same place. Interesting
