Just bought... personal defense.

The Taurus "Judge" Colt 45 or .410 Shot Shells, mix and match... The .410 shells are loaded with 4 copper "Defense Discs" and multiple copper projectiles.

You can see it looks pretty menacing. I have pretty big hands and it's big, heavy and looks like it can kick an intruder's ass.

Target practice will be with Colt .45 slugs.

Also bought the SpeedVault, which opens by a 4 digit pin only.

Very happy with this firearm. Kicks like a mule.

I bought the Taurus Judge right when they were first released, years ago. It's a fun gun to shoot but not a good carry pistol.

Get out and shoot that thing, they're fun.

Those disc rounds you mention are worthless past about 15 feet.

The first rule of firearms you should learn is to keep your finger out of the trigger guard and off of the trigger until you have made a conscious decision to fire.

The ballistics on the .410 pistol rounds aren't that impressive. It's a cool concept but I'd buy good .45 LC for it rather than the gimmick .410 stuff.

I have one and mainly keep it with me in the woods for snakes, loaded with #4 shot. Also good to catch people off guard when you chunk up a beer bottle and shoot it :M16: . Just stick with the 2 1/2" shot shells; it is a bit of a handful and not really fun with the 3"

No intention to carry. This is a home defense firearm for use in case of a break in while my wife and I are home. Been to the practice range once with the gun, going again tomorrow. The .45 slugs kick pretty hard and, yes, it is fun to shoot... LOUD. Thanks for the advice.
