Does anyone know if GM made two 6.0L's....one flex fuel capable and one straight gas. Im curious because when I order parts/accessories from say GM for example they have 3 engine options listed for 2011; 6.6 Duramax, 6.0 Flex, 6.0 Gas??

Im not 100% positive, but I believe that the 3500 with a 6.0 engine was not flex fuel engine. Keep in mind, the more alcohol you use, the worse the fuel economy, and less power. 2500, and 3500 trucks are NOT subject to EPA fuel economy ratings .

There are also more than one version of the 6.0. The 1500 votex max 6.0 (max HP), the regular 2500/3500HD 6.0 (middle HP), and the HD fleet vehicle 6.0 (lowest HP).

If you are talking just about the HD iron block L96 6.0L, some are flex-fuel, some are not. Rule of thumb is 2012 and up HD PICKUPS usually are, but 2011 and earlier HD's, along with chassis-cab models are usually not. There may be exceptions. A lot has to do with the vehicle the engine is installed in, not necessarily the engine itself. E85 is a bit corrosive, so many vehicle parts, like the fuel tank and pump, have to be corrosion resistant. Best thing to do is look at the vehicle owner's manual.

Thanks C/K Man, yeah I was just reffering to the L96.

my 07 3500 doesn't have anything flex fuel wise. that said idk how its any different than the 2500 engine and all.

07 is an LY6 and not flex fuel capable... they ran the LY6 through 2009.
