Help a fellow out?

Ok, so on Friday I'm switching trucks. I got an amazing offer that I can't pass up. Currently I have a 2015 Sierra 1500 DC SLE All Terrain with the 5.3. I'm picking up a 2015 Sierra 1500 CC SLT Max Trailering with the 6.2.

On to the dilemma now.

On my "old" truck, I leveled it with Fox Coilovers which netted me exactly 2" up front and nothing in the rear. I then went with Fuel Assault 20x9 wheels with +1 offset and 275/60/20 BFG KO2's. Due to the aggressive offset, I was extremely close to rubbing with this size tire.

On the "new" truck I plan on getting the same Fox Coilovers. The part that I'm undecided on is the wheel/tire combo. I'd like to put something a bit wider on there but don't want any rubbing. I'd also like to avoid any trimming.

With that being said, I'm trying to see if anyone has any info on either of these 2 setups on a 2" level:

20x9 wheels with a +20 offset and 305/55/20 KO2's

18x9 wheels with a +20 offset and 305/65/18 KO2's

Basically I'm willing to go with a less aggressive offset to get the bigger tire under there. Any help is appreciated.

Which FOX coil overs do you have and do you have steel or aluminum control arms? Reason I'm asking is I ordered the FOX 2.0's for the aluminum arm trucks (which mine is) and they gave me exactly 1/2" lift before they even settled. I shipped them back to FOX yesterday after they finally agreed to pay the shipping. They, of course, were baffled as to why they only gave me 1/2" of lift on my 2015 4x4 All Terrain truck.

Why don't you just put the old strut/springs in and put the FOX stuff on your new truck? The swap takes an hour max. Or tell the dealer you want them to swap them out from the new truck to the old if you don't have your old parts anymore. Save yourself $1k in buying new FOX parts.

My "old" one has steel control arms. I don't know what the "new" one has yet.

The Fox Coilovers I have are 983-02-086

I can't switch them to the "new" truck because part of the deal I got was to turn in the "old" truck exactly as it is.

Congrats on the new rig, you'll love the 6.2L NHT. What are you using the truck for primarily? Towing, OR, DD, street rod, other?

FWIW, since mine was intended for towing a boat fairly regularly, its first job is truly as a tow weapon. Second as a winter sports battle axe for winter skiing. Family and sports hauling with moderate OR, but a ton of pavement pounding as well.

At the end of the day, while bigger/wider rubber was a preference, for us staying OEM height and rake with more aggressive rubber in stock size was a better bet for our purposes. I'll eventually do Icon or Fox at OEM height for the quality of suspension.

Thanks, I use mine for pretty much everything but towing honestly. I haul around quite a bit of respiratory equipment (O2 tanks, concentrators, ventilators etc). It's also my DD

So, no input yet on the tire sizing? I'm sure there's someone out there that has played around with fitment on the RC 2" right? The Fox coilovers net the same increase in height.

Not the exact set up you're looking for, but it might help...

I'm running 305/55/20 Nitto terra grappler g2's with 20x9 +18 offset wheels with the readylift 2.25" leveling kit.

Like others on this forum running a similar set up, I had slight rubbing with the front tires on the back of the wheel well carpet while cranking the steering wheel in reverse (more so if i was on an incline). I fixed the issue (from what I can tell) by doing what others have done with zip tying the carpet back. This provides another inch or so of room (only a guess).

You might want to compare the specs. on the G2's vs the KO2's since are probably not the exact same width & height.
