Building new 2016 6.2

We are working on a new special order. I noticed the gears listed in my build sheet is 3.23 with the 6.2. Will this be a dog like the 3.08 is in the 5.3 truck?

 

Can I get the 3.42 in the 6.2 without added costs?

When I ordered mine. I had to get the max tow package to get the 3:42.. I'm glad I did.. I love the mirrors

Yes.. unless things changed in the 2016 build sheet

When I first laid my eyes on my truck when it arrived I rolled my eyes and said.. those mirros are gonna be the first thing to get removed... and 5 months later.. I'm still in love with them.. I don't tow but they are nice and I use the led spot lights to blind tailgaters. When they get to close.. works every time... I know I know it's wrong. But damn some people just drive to close...

The 8 speed more than makes up for not having 3.42's.

The 3.23s in 8 speed I think is almost like 3.73 in 6 speed I may be wrong but something like that

 

Would be nice to have deeper gears though never a bad thing, but I wouldn't let it force me into ordering a truck that I didn't necessarily want.

 

That being said, if it were me and I got to do it all over again & was ordering, I prefer the look of the body matched painted bumpers over chrome, & you can't get that & max tow- body colored bumpers only on all terrain and Denali neither of which get max tow.

If ordering, you should be able to remove the big mirrors. I've seen max tows without them.

 

But as other posters have said, those mirrors are friggen awesome! However, if you're more into the looks of the truck, they certainly aren't as sporty or sleek looking as the standard mirrors.

I understand ... forgot about the 8 speed. Yes those gears would be fine set up with that trans..

+6 to the 3.42s, 8 speed, tow mirrors, and big V8 gasser - tow duties or not.

 

Only regret not having a larger gas tank.

 

Also love the 16's headlights and mild refresh grills.

On a 2016 5.3/8 speed, 3.42 comes on both standard and max tow trucks.

I had no desire for tow mirrors and didn't find a truck I wanted with max trailer anyway. I have towed pretty heavy with my 3.23's and 8 speed and I don't have the inkling to regear like I normally do. This thing rips as is, has no trouble pulling 9000 lbs uphill without doing anything odd and gets awesome gas mileage unladen. I thought I wanted to swap 3.73's but honestly I can't be bothered at thus point. I don't lift or level or go larger with tires either which helps lol. 3.23 to 3.42 is such a small jump anyway... I wouldn't even worry about it. I drove a max trailer 6.2 crew cab and my 3.23 double cab and this double cab was quicker than that crew so... it's more if you get a good one or not lol.
