Trailer hitch recall for 14/15's with Z82

I received the recall notice for the welds on my trailer hitch platform months ago and I am being told by my dealer that the part is on back order. Has anyone else received that same message from their dealer?

I contacted my dealer over 6 weeks ago about the hitch recall. Made an appointment to have the hitch replaced on 4/28. Had to cancel appt.

 

Service Mgr said they haven't received any hitches. Called another GMC dealer closer to me and was told the same thing - no hitches.

 

To date I have not received a written notice in the mail about the hitch recall. Only a notice about the plow harness recall.

Where on the Hitch is the problem ?.....I'll be towing in two weeks, and want to be sure everything is good to go

Hello - Update on my receiver hitch replacement and other items ( Truck now has a little over 12,000 miles ):

 

My GMC dealer service dept replaced my receiver hitch per recall/notice 15036 this past Friday, June 10th. I received the recall/notice

the next day on Saturday, June 11th - which mentioned the hitch could develop cracks at the weld points over time.

 

I already had removed the spare - cleaned wheel and tire - waxed both sides of the wheel and coated tire on both sides with Mothers

Tire Shine. Tech re-installed spare under truck. A few other items were completed:

 

Multi-Point Inspection & Tire Rotation.

 

Tires/Wheels Balanced at my request - very slight vibration at highway speeds - $34.95 plus tax - Total $37.05 - Only item I had to pay for.

No more vibration.

 

Tech lubricated the rear springs - I had mentioned noise at rear of truck while driving over bad roads. No more noise.

 

Tech reprogrammed transfer case per recall/notice 15304. ( I already had the transfer case re-programmed under recall/notice 14192 back when

the truck had 305 miles on her - August 22, 2014. ) Will have to check and see what 15304 is about.

 

Tech re-torqued rear brake bolt per recall/notice 9101576. Will need to check on this one also.

 

In at 10:00AM and out by noon. Not to bad.

 

Dealer service manager said they are waiting on parts to complete other recalls/notices such as Snow Plow Harness, Seat Belt, etc.
