My 33000 Mile list of repairs/ issues 2014 Sierra SLT

This truck has had a lot of repairs.

I really like the looks of my 2014 SLT Sierra and love the 6.2

First Dealer (in the shop at least 6-8 times) They had my truck for at least 20 Days.

The truck had the vibration issue.

Replaced, two LS2 tires, one 20" wheel.

Road Force balanced the wires/tires numberous times. (First dealer could not solve the vibration issue)

There was a hum in intervals coming from the front. The front differential was rebuilt.

The dash by the defroster bowed up while using the defroster or hot/cold temps were present. (Cosmetic) After replaced no change.

The front driver seat clicked. They pulled the seat and it fixed it for a while.

They got the vibration analysis tool and said there was nothing wrong with the vibration.

Second Dealer

Used the vibration analyzer and found an issue right away. They sent the file to GM.

GM sent 4 brand new tires LS2 Good Year Tires.

Rebuilt the rear differential

Replaced the rear shocks.

I think the vibration issue is solved. At least to a level where I don't feel it or notice it anymore.

Put about 10K on the truck and it is all good.

The driver seat starts clicking again.

I started to smell coolant in my garage. Noticed no leak on floor but could smell the truck.

2nd Dealer ordered a new seat frame and put in a new radiator.

Now the dealer found my oil pan seal is starting to leak some. (They are putting a new seal on the oil pan.)

Other things

The 6 speed transmission makes poor shifts from time to time. Mostly deceleration. Hard shifts down

The Infotainment system has locked up once and bounced back and forth between two screens 3 different times. (Goes away when I restart the truck)

Have had the truck turn over with key inserted. (Says theft deterent system) This has happened 3 times. Never stranded me but wondered if it might.

I did expect to have some issues with a new year out. Seem like a lot of problems.

on your wheel/tire vibration issue, was it at certain speed? I've noticed a good bit above 70 mph.

I guess I am lucky?

26k on my 2015 SLT so far and I don't have any of the issues most describe here other than an occasional odd shift.

above 50mph and got worse with high speed

Man that sucks.

I will say my 2014 sometimes has hard shifts when decelerating. However my 2013 did the same thing.

It's not all the time, just sometimes. I just chalk it up to normality.

Funny you say that, I have a 2015 Benz as well. I bought it last November and I bought my truck last April. I can put together a larger list of issues I have had with my Benz, than my truck.. lol

None are extremely serious issues but they are all a hassle when you have to go back to the dealership and drop it off for warranty work.

I would look to trade that in while it still has good value.

BEFORE YOU GO OVER 35k miles - Heed my warning - I work at the #6 dealership in the country.

What do you mean when you say the seat clicked?

See Seat Movement issues. They tried to fix it once and end up replacing the seat frame.

:rollin: Ok...

I feel sorry for people like that, don't heed his advice.

Good luck OP, ours has been great other than a random rattle or creek, oh and seat click.

As long as the truck continues to work properly I will keep it. I had my last truck for 10 years and plan to do the same with this.

Omaha check out the thread on the main forum regarding the grade brake option, press the tow haul button in for 3-5 seconds let go then press again and you should get the message "grade braking disabled" it seemed to help out with a lot of my low speed shifting concerns with the 6 speed.
